00:00The price of rice is expected to fall in the coming weeks due to the government's lack of assistance to farmers this planting season.
00:09This is Keith de la Cruz Piloti of Radyo Pilipinas for Balitang Pambansa.
00:16The Department of Agriculture is now cooperating with the Department of Budget and Management and Bureau of Customs
00:23for the government's lack of assistance to farmers.
00:28The DA agreed to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order to provide assistance to farmers during the planting season.
00:38Sec. Tico Chu Laurel Jr.'s instructions to our regional field offices and other agencies to speed up the procurement and distribution of fertilizer, rice, and other assistance.
00:57And to ensure that farmers will benefit from the government's assistance,
01:02it will still go through cooperatives, irrigation associations, and municipal, city, and provincial agriculturists.
01:11The DA is positive that the price of rice will fall due to the lack of assistance from the government.
01:17In fact, the 5% broken or good quality of rice has slightly decreased.
01:23In the past, the maximum retail price was more than P60. Now, it is only P58.
01:31If the price of good quality rice decreases, the tendency of other types of rice will also decrease next week due to this movement.
