How do you rate Liverpool’s public transport?

A modern, effective transport system is integral in a city, but how does Liverpool's stand up? Whilst the City Region's Combined Authority is investing hundreds of millions of pounds to create a London-style integrated transport network, we wanted to know how you feel about the current state?

00:00£500 million has been spent to introduce a brand new fleet of publicly-owned, state-of-the-art

00:06trains to the Mersey Rail network, replacing the older fleet that has served the region

00:11since the late 1970s.

00:14Buses are the backbone of our public transport system, with 80% of all public transport journeys

00:20locally being made by bus.

00:22Since devolution, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has been working to create

00:27a London-style transport network.

00:29But how do the public feel about the current state of public transport in the region?

00:37I use the public transport, the buses, the trains mostly, but I find that the buses in

00:43Liverpool are not very good.

00:45I see more buses going round the city centre with not-in-service on, and that's a big hit

00:51for me, I must say.

00:53I usually take the bus into town.

00:55It's very reliable, but sometimes when it has the bus strike, that's a real pain, especially

01:00when you get to commute somewhere, because I remember a few years back, that was a real

01:03trouble for me, because I was just starting out my travels, and when they were on strike,

01:08I really felt like I was a stuck duck, if you know what I mean.

01:11Buses are pretty well on.

01:12I'm up from the north end, so they're pretty good, very good, actually.

01:17It's got my mum.

01:19And whatever happened to the electric buses that we've got?

01:22We've paid millions of pounds for these buses, and you never see them on the roads.

01:26I've seen about two in the last couple of weeks, where's the rest?

01:30If it's one of those, you've got to consider the bus pass as well, for those who are on

01:33benefits, because it's just like, people can't really afford that kind of like price if it's

01:37on a deal basis, especially on a budget, you know what I mean?

01:40The trains, over the holiday, and this bit of snow, it's been disgusting.

01:45Just stopping the trains, when do you like?

01:48Because there are people trying to get to work, because of these trains and the buses,

01:52it's absolutely rubbish.
