00:03it reported how this happened, how he tore his Achilles again, but it just came out of

00:08nowhere.

00:09I believe he turned his ankle.

00:11I don't know how, but he turned his ankle, he threw the sprained ankle, ended up being

00:14he tore it again.

00:15I think that's what they said here, how true it is, no idea.

00:19Yeah, I didn't see any of that.

00:20I just saw that it happened, that he had surgery.

00:22So by the way, people don't just have that happen and have surgery.

00:25So this must have happened a week or two or something ago.

00:28We just didn't get any word of this.

00:29I'm not indicting the insiders at all, like the guy's not playing, he's like traveling

00:33somewhere in Montana in a truck, how the heck are you supposed to know this?

00:37But this surgery, make no mistake about it, it's going to cost him the season if indeed

00:41this is a legit Achilles injury.

00:44Guys do not come back from this in six months.

00:47So all you have to do is really extrapolate.

00:49And the idea that Watson would return anytime before November or December is a falsehood.

00:54He's going to miss at least the first eight games, nine games of the season.

00:58So therefore, he's going to miss the season.

00:59Let's call it what it is.

01:00Cleveland is not going to win 13, 14 games next year.

01:04So look, I mean, George, strangely enough, this happens in sports where guys just lose

01:12it and it's over.

01:14To me, that's what appears happened to Deshaun Watson.

01:17I don't know the man and I don't know the player, but it's very easy for me in my seat

01:22doing a TV show here on SportsGrid to say, I think he's finished.

01:26And Cleveland is going to have to draft a quarterback at two.

01:30But it does open up that conversation, which I did not know that we were going to have,

01:34which came out this week with Coach Prime, with Deion Sanders saying that he didn't say

01:40any specific teams, but he said that he's not going to have his son go to a team with

01:44foolishness.

01:45And I don't know that he meant the Browns and I don't know that he meant the Giants.

01:48And I certainly don't know that he meant the Tennessee Titans.

01:52But if he is pulling the strings there and Cam Ward of the University of Miami goes number

01:58one, which is possible.

02:00He's not the favorite, but it is certainly possible.

02:03It's close on FanDuel.

02:07Then I don't know what ends up happening.

02:11It's going to be an interesting situation here.

02:13First of all, I'm reading here, this is what ESPN has reported, that during his season

02:16ending exit interview, he complained of discomfort after rolling his ankle in Miami.

02:23And again, the subsequent MRI revealed the rupture.

02:25So that's what they're reporting there.

02:27And as you said, I don't see how he's playing this season, if that's true.

02:32I don't see how he's returning in six, seven months here, whatever.

02:35So will they take a quarterback or two and how much will Coach Prime be a problem if

02:41they do want to take Sanders?

02:43So I think Cleveland needs to be careful here, because one, you can't, I think Watson's done

02:50as you said.

02:51What are you hoping for here?

02:52It's a sunk course right now.

02:53You made a mistake.

02:54You blew it.

02:55All right.

02:56So you got to get over that.

02:57How are they going to be in this position to take a quarterback?

02:58Do you believe?

02:59How does your organization believe?

03:00Do you believe, okay, we've got to take a quarterback at all costs, even if he's not

03:04the second best overall player in the draft, or are you drafting BPA?

03:07And if you're drafting BPA, that's fine, but then you have to be talking to the Giants

03:11at number three, right?

03:12Because we know they want a quarterback.

03:14So then you've got to be letting them trade up to number two, give you whatever they're

03:16going to give you.

03:17And then you take the best player at number three, whether that's Travis Hunter, whoever

03:22it might be there.

03:24So a tough choice for Cleveland here.

03:26But if you do decide to go to the quarterback route, as silly as this is to say, you better

03:30make sure that Coach Prime's on board or else he will cause problems.

03:33And I think there's very little doubt about that.

03:35He will cause problems if he thinks his son should not go to Cleveland.

03:38And that could be a nightmare.

03:39We might have another, you know, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning situation.

03:42The problem is there's not another quarterback you're trading for, you know, Eli Manning

03:46and Philip Rivers pretty much traded for each other.

03:48This is not what's going to happen here.

03:49So Hey, for our business, this is going to be, this is going to be a lot of fun.

03:52Things are going to be great.
