00:00We have gathered here to brief you about an incident that occurred on 7th January 2025

00:18in Hamre, Patan.

00:21At approximately 20.30 hours, 8.30 pm, information was received through in-charge police force

00:27Palhalan.

00:29Regarding an incident at 19.40 hours, 7.40 pm, where unknown terrorists with the intent

00:35to cause harm and destruction, lobbed a grenade towards the 163 TA premises, which is a security

00:43force camp.

00:45The grenade exploded on top of the MI room structure, causing significant damage.

00:51Upon receiving this information, FIR No. 01 of 2025 of Police Station Patan was registered

00:58under Section 109, Bharti Naya Sanata, and Sections 16 and 23 of Unlawful Activities

01:05Prevention Act, and an investigation was promptly initiated.

01:10Necessary legal procedures, including the evidence collection at the scene of crime,

01:16were carried out meticulously, through an in-depth analysis of electronic and technical

01:21evidence available from the spot.

01:25Coupled with human intelligence and relentless efforts by multiple investigative teams, the

01:31perpetrators were apprehended within 24 hours of the commission of crime of the incident.

01:38Three individuals involved in the crime were arrested, and on their instance, the following

01:44arms and ammunitions were recovered.

01:46One hand grenade, one AK sleeves rifle, one pistol, 256 live AK rounds, 21 live pistol

01:57rounds.

01:58While revealing the detailed information about the arrested individuals and their modus operandi,

02:05could compromise the ongoing investigations, it is essential to note that one of the arrested

02:10individuals is a surrendered, released terrorist.

02:15Another one is the son of a surrendered, released terrorist.

02:20The third individual, and prima facie, the mastermind, who had been awaiting arrest in

02:27a Nagpur terror case for the past two years.

02:32The disturbing involvement of surrendered and released terrorists and their close family

02:36members in such activities poses challenges to the efforts aimed at reintegrating the

02:41community into the mainstream.

02:44Therefore, Baramulla Police and the rest of the security forces strongly caution the surrendered,

02:51released terrorists against engaging in terror and anti-national activities.

02:55Such actions contradict their requests for leniency and surveillance, and undermine the

03:01trust building measures.

03:04Baramulla Police assures the peace-loving citizens of its unwavering commitment to maintain

03:11peace and security in the district.

03:14We express our gratitude to District Police Sopore, the District Police Bandipur, and

03:2052 Rashtriya Rifles, apart from other security forces, for their cooperation and timely assistance.

03:28Special thanks are also extended to the citizens who supported the police during investigations.

04:29In the evening of 7.40 pm, there was a grenade incident in Patan.

04:38This incident was committed by unknown terrorists.

04:41The grenade was lobbed at 163 TA premises.

04:46The grenade exploded on the roof of their MI room, which caused significant damage to the structure.

04:55Thankfully, there was no loss of life.
