00:00I do hope that we will see more and more of you using Indian products,

00:06talking to your governments to get the necessary approvals through for Indian spices,

00:13Indian vegetables, Indian foodstuffs, Indian rice or wheat or curries,

00:20so much that we have to offer.

00:22We also have been quite successful in prepackaged, ready-to-eat foods

00:29being developed in India in a big way.

00:31Possibly some of you may like to experience the outcome of these ready-to-eat foods.

00:39Many of our flights today only serve meals which just get ready in five or seven minutes

00:46when put into hot water.

00:48My own daughter, every time she leaves India, takes along with her a lot of packages,

00:56packets of dehydrated products and makes her own khichdi there,

01:01makes her own biryani there, makes her own rotis and chapatis over there

01:06out of these dehydrated products that are now finding a lot of interest

01:15in different parts of the world.

01:18I also believe that there is a very large Indian diaspora

01:23which certainly has an interest in Indian taste or has the taste buds for Indian foods.

01:30But of late, I am finding more and more foreigners, persons of other countries also,

01:38taking to Indian food and almost making it a ritual to enjoy Indian cuisines.

01:50So I do believe that there is tremendous potential and different products,

01:57whether it's the Indian biryani, Hyderabadi biryani,

02:01or it's our South Indian offerings of idli, vada, dosas,

02:06or it's our versions from Punjab of chola bhaturas

02:13or the Maharashtrian products like misal pav or Gujarati products like paan ki and dhokla

02:25and various, various products from all over the country

02:30have tremendous potential in different parts of the world.

02:34I hope we can count on all of you to take these products to the rest of the world.

02:41We are also very keen to focus on sustainability

02:47and see how our farming processes become more sustainable.

02:52We are keen on promoting organic food products and cultivation of organic foods.

02:59That's another area where there's tremendous growth potential.

03:05We have eased the processes of certification for organic foods,

03:10yet maintaining traceability and maintaining the sanctity

03:15to ensure that no irregularities creep into the system.

03:20Mr. Rajesh Agarwal has done tremendous work on our national program for production of organic foods,

03:29and I do hope that'll be one area where we'll see significant ramp-up and growth in the days to come.

03:37I would urge Indian companies in the room to invest in innovation,

03:44invest in better packaging, invest in sustainability

03:49because that can get you good value propositions internationally,

03:53mechanize your processes to make them more hygienic,

03:57and Indian consumers also are becoming very discerning.

04:04So more and more prepackaged foods are finding markets both in India and internationally.

04:11So it's your time to grow, your time to expand by leaps and bounds.

04:17Don't miss out on this opportunity.

04:20Incidentally, diplomacy also draws a lot from your industry.

04:30I think banquets and luncheons and all sorts of culinary experiences

04:39is a way we carry out a lot of our diplomatic engagements.

04:46So you have a role to play in building relationships also,

04:54and I do hope you will continue to provide good solutions towards that.
