00:18just heard from Vito Pereira, head of the game, and let's talk about the FA Cup in general

00:23of course, his first taste of FA Cup action and he's looking forward to it isn't he?

00:28Yeah, we spoke on the podcast didn't we about how brilliant competition it is, a wonderful,

00:32amazing competition and how this is not a priority for Wolves and how we're not really

00:37bothered whether they get through or not and I mean that with all the goodwill in the world

00:40because the Premier League is the bread and butter for Wolves, it's the priority of this

00:44season, it has to be, at the same time it is a special competition, it's a historic

00:47competition and Pereira spoke very nicely about it, he spoke previously when he arrived

00:52at the club about how he used to watch Premier League football at home and sat on the sofa

00:55and he did sort of the same analogies talking about the FA Cup and how big a competition

00:59it is in comparison to the other countries, Portugal being one of course, it's his homeland

01:04and how different that is to the sort of importance of the Cup in other countries, here it's maybe

01:12weighing slightly in comparison to what it used to be in some people's eyes, for me it

01:16hasn't, I think it's a massive competition and he's going to take it very seriously,

01:20he wants to win the game.

01:22He wants to win the game but I think it's fair to say we can expect changes from let's

01:27say Newcastle on Wednesday night which as you said previously is the priority, goalkeeper,

01:33so Wolves have got three goalkeepers, four, come on, four goalkeepers, three goalkeepers

01:41who have got a chance of starting this game, let's be honest, sorry Tom King, which one

01:45do you think he will choose and why?

01:48I thought already, we both thought already that it would be Sam Johnston, he did pretty

01:53much everything but say those exact words that it's going to be Sam Johnston, he did

01:57say that, and I'm near enough quoting him directly here, Sam should have an opportunity

02:04to show his qualities basically and he spoke generally around the goalkeepers because first

02:08of all we're expecting Johnston to probably get a game tomorrow which is, he'll want to

02:12impress and want to do well and he said look when I came in I had a big decision to make,

02:16Jose Sarr, Sam Johnston, I went with Sarr, he said so far he's doing well but he did

02:20fire a little warning to say not that Sarr's done anything particularly wrong but to say

02:24that look if someone doesn't perform, goalkeepers or out or any other position that they will

02:29look to make a change so Sarr has got the pressure, he's got the competition, he has

02:33to continue to perform otherwise there'll be a man ready to take his place.

02:37Do you feel that he'll want to carry three or four goalkeepers going into the second

02:41half of the season or can you see one of Sam Johnston, Dan Bentley and Jose Sarr not being

02:46at the club come February 3rd?

02:48I don't think you can rule it out and I don't think it's a dead situation to say definitely

02:53one of them won't go but Pereira seems pretty relaxed on having them for the rest of the

02:59season, now if you're going to ask me for next season and beyond I think that's a much

03:02bigger question but it seems that the likelihood is that they will probably continue with these

03:06goalkeepers through for this campaign, if Jose Sarr keeps his place between now and

03:11May Sam Johnston himself has probably got a decision to make alongside the club.

03:16In terms of the injuries and who have missed out recently are we expecting anyone to return?

03:21I don't think so, unfortunately, yeah Totti we knew at the Forest game he was about one

03:27to two weeks away so he's not going to be available, Pereira was asked about Dawson

03:33and Samedo, said I don't think so in terms of them being ready and available, sort of

03:38hinted that Newcastle could be the right game for them, he also went on to hint that it

03:43could be a little bit of a youthful side tomorrow which we'll come on to which will be interesting.

03:50One player that is back is training, it's Andre back from Brazil, he's available for

03:56selection but Pereira made it pretty clear that he's got a decision to make there, I

04:00would hedge my bets and say he probably doesn't play, he probably travels maybe on the bench,

04:04doesn't start, he's probably roughly about where Wolves are but yeah, those players hopefully

04:08coming back pretty soon with Newcastle coming up.

04:12So in terms of a younger, more youthful line-up, who are the names do you think that could

04:17be in with a shout?

04:19So, Kundle, I think it has to be in that frame, I think it has to be, at the same time Wolves

04:27are looking to get him a move, he's keen to go and play so it's likely if they can get

04:32something done then he'll go this month but as it stands he's available, he's there, I

04:36think he's got a good chance of playing.

04:38Alfie Pond?

04:39Alfie Pond has got a good chance of playing, Bastien Peu as well, those two defenders with

04:44Wolves' shortage of defenders have to be in the frame, Pedro Lima I think will start considering

04:50Samedo being out, he started the Premier League game of course.

04:53Rodrigo, he's probably got a good chance as well you'd have thought?

04:56I don't count him as a young player, I know age-wise he is but they signed him for £12.5m

05:01so I wouldn't put him in that same sort of category, Lima I suppose is kind of similar

05:05as well.

05:06One of the youngsters, Pablo Sarabia?

05:07He may play but he's definitely not a youngster.

05:11So yeah, there's not actually a lot of players that could come straight into the XI, there's

05:17a few that could travel, Wes Okuduwa was on the bench for the Forest game, he could very

05:22easily travel for this one, Fletcher Holman has just left for Solihull Moors, otherwise

05:25I would have said he potentially could have as well, there will be a couple of players

05:29that they like having around the training, they could travel with the team, may make

05:32the bench.

05:33Get that senior experience of a match day.

05:35Exactly, and it will be interesting to see how Pereira weighs up and finds the balance

05:39between picking a team good enough to win this game, because Bristol City, look Wolves

05:43will be favoured but they're no mugs by any means.

05:44Just outside the play-offs in the Championship.

05:47But also giving enough players a rest, not risking enough players to have Wednesday and

05:52beyond their priority.
