1. Customization

One of the best aspects of GTA 5 was just how extensive the character customization

was between both the single player campaign and GTA Online.

On one hand, you could design Michael, Franklin, and Trevor however you saw them fit, sort

On the other hand, you could almost make an exact replica of yourself just from a variety

of facial presets and some accessories.

We sincerely hope Rockstar is expanding the options further for GTA 6, at least for the

online mode, and honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if they just brought over all of

what was given in GTA 5.

2. Do change sprinting

Rockstar has had a weird habit of attributing its sprinting mechanics to mashing a button

mindlessly.

Whereas other games now feature autorun or allow you to sprint just by clicking an analog

stick, Rockstar still wants you to mash a button to run.

Here's the thing, not everybody likes hearing their gross thumb mashing on plastic when

all we're trying to do is get to our next objective.

Rockstar, please just let us click an analog stick to run, or better yet, just copy TT

Games' running system for the LEGO games.

If we're moving forward for a certain amount of time, autosprint triggers, it's that easy.

It's way better than mindlessly tapping X or A.

Don't change cheat codes

Ever since GTA 3 debuted on the PlayStation 2, Grand Theft Auto has long been known to

feature some of the best cheat codes in gaming.

Insta-spawn helicopters and tanks, alter the game's physics, give yourself the ability

to run at breakneck speed, cause the entire world to fall into anarchy through riot mode,

It all makes GTA a hilarious experience.

Unfortunately, much of AAA gaming has left these fun gimmicks behind in favor of microtransactions

and DLC.

We only hope Rockstar doesn't follow suit and completely abandon these codes.

It'll only make GTA seem more buttoned up, which is the exact opposite of the IP's general

identity.

Do change the driving

Despite having developed so many games that feature driving missions and racing, Rockstar

still can't seem to nail down vehicle physics and driving mechanics.

That isn't to say GTA 5 was abysmal per se, they were better than previous games,

just not by a huge margin.

If you want certain cars to have torque or feel like we're driving iceboxes, then at

least make it an explicit detail about the car in some way before we go wasting cash

on something that looks nice.

While we're at it, can we get a more expansive customization feature for cars?

GTA 5 was, again, a step in the right direction, but why was it so barren of options?

One thing we'll say GTA 5 did perfectly was the traffic size.

While it was lighter than usual for a place that's supposed to parody Los Angeles, it

was still busy to feel like the world was alive yet open enough for pulling off crazy

maneuvers.

Earlier games had major problems where it felt like traffic was deliberately trying

to prevent us from escaping the cops or reaching our destination in time.

It would often make certain missions very aggravating.

GTA 5, on the other hand, found a perfect balance.

So long as GTA 6 follows suit, we should be A-OK.

Do change the gunplay

Despite innovations in making shooting feel good in video games, Rockstar Games has been

glued to their own awkward gunplay for some reason.

Unless you're packing explosive ammunition or using a shotgun, every gun feels like a

pea shooter in sound and impact.

What's worse is how tiny the reticle is for almost every weapon.

While GTA 5 did allow players to change crosshairs in the settings menu, we need to make that

the default and not whatever pebble Rockstar keeps setting us to.

Come on guys, get with the times.

Stop with the dot on the center of the screen.

Don't change the sense of humor

Part of the appeal with GTA is the sense of humor.

Since the early days of the series, GTA has straddled the line between being edgy and

being borderline offensive.

However, the level of finesse GTA has shown was thanks to series lead writer Dan Houser,

who is no longer at Rockstar Games, and the numerous co-writers he's had to help with

each game.

Many have speculated that the story will be written by Michael Unsworth and or Rupert

Humphreys, who both wrote GTA 4, 5, Red Dead Redemption, and Red Dead Redemption 2 alongside

Houser.

But at the time of this video, it is unknown who is leading the story.

We just hope the jokes won't be super tame.

We know most GTA players probably don't care about this, but plenty of other gamers

The most annoying part about GTA 5's platinum trophy was how you had to not only play the

single-player campaign, but also grind the ever-loving hell out of GTA Online.

Trophy guides estimate at least 150 hours of playtime in order to get the platinum trophy.

Rockstar, would it be too much to ask you to separate the online trophies from the single-player

campaign?

Not everybody wants to touch GTA Online for very specific reasons, which we will get into

in just a moment.

Don't change the wanted system

Another facet of GTA's formula that GTA 5 did right was the wanted system.

In previous games, every game had a wanted system that made it too easy or too hard to

escape the cops, often making frustrating scenarios in certain missions.

GTA 5 at least was a bit more flexible, with its placement of garage workshops, alleyways,

and the ability to see the cop's peripheral vision via the minimap.

That said, let's keep this same approach for GTA 6 and not tweak the wanted system

too much, although maybe make traffic collisions a little less sensitive in triggering the

Look if there is ever one thing that desperately needs to be changed for GTA 6's sake, it's

While we can appreciate the ability to unlock everything through natural gameplay and without

having to grind as much as other games would make us, there are some glaring issues with

griefers, trolls, and toxic behavior in general.

Story-wise, there isn't much substance beyond Agent 13's constant sarcasm and Lester's...um...awkwardness.

What GTA Online needs is some flesh on its story, something other than, we're getting

rich to get rich so we can be rich.

And maybe get some other characters to set up missions instead of Agent 13 or Lester,
