00:00Pravasi Bharatiya Devas would be formally inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister

00:05of India on day 2 of the convention.

00:08He will also address the convention.

00:11The Prime Minister will remotely flag off the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya

00:16Express, a special tourist train for the Indian diaspora, which will depart from Delhi and

00:22would travel to multiple destinations of touristic and religious importance in India for a period

00:28of three weeks.

00:30This will be conducted under the Pravasi Bharatiya Teerth Darshan Yojana of the Ministry of External

00:36Affairs.

00:37The Honourable Prime Minister will also inaugurate four exhibitions.

00:42The first one is called Vishwaroop Ram, the Universal Legacy of Ramayana.

00:48This exhibition would present the timeless epic of Ramayana through a curated just exposition

00:55of traditional and contemporary art forms.

00:59The second exhibition is titled The Diaspora's Contribution to Technology and Vixit Bharat.

01:06This exhibition would acknowledge the contributions of the Indian diaspora to the development

01:11of technology in the world.

01:14The third exhibition titled The Spread and Evolution of Indian Diaspora in the World

01:20with special focus on Manvi to Muscat.

01:25This will showcase the rare documents of people who had migrated from Manvi in Gujarat

01:32to Muscat in Oman.

01:35The fourth one is an exhibition which is called The Heritage and Culture of Odisha.

01:42This exhibition will showcase the rich heritage and culture traditions of Odisha through its

01:48different art and craft forms and highlights its illustrious legacy.

01:55There would also be promotional stalls set up by several union ministries and departments

02:02of the government of India and also those by the state government of Odisha and other

02:07state governments of India with a view to project the impressive development strides

02:13taken by India during the last decade as a part of its march towards a Vixit Bharat.

02:22In the afternoon of the second day, we will have two plenary sessions, one on titled Building

02:29Bridges, Breaking Barriers, Stories of Migrant Skills.

02:34This would be chaired by Sushri Shobha Karantlaje, Honorable Minister of State for Micro, Small

02:41and Medium Enterprises and Labor and Employment.

02:45This will be followed by a plenary session called Green Connections, Diaspora's Contribution

02:52to Sustainable Development to be chaired by the Honorable Minister of Electronics and

02:57Information Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Railways, Sri Ashwini Vaishnav.

03:05On the final day of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Giver's Convention, the Honorable Rashtrapati

03:10Ji would chair the valedictory session in the afternoon at which she would confer the

03:18Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards on 27 distinguished members of the Indian diaspora to recognize

03:26their outstanding contribution and achievement in diverse fields both in their countries

03:32of residence as well as in India.

03:36Awards would be conferred to Indian diaspora from 24 countries.

03:41The Honorable Rashtrapati Ji would also deliver the valedictory address at this session.

03:49Here I would also like to inform that the valedictory session would be preceded by two

03:55more plenary sessions.

03:57The first one is called Diaspora Divas Celebrating Women's Leadership and Influence, Nari Shakti

04:06which would be chaired by the Honorable External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jai Shankar.

04:11And the second one will be on Diaspora Dialogues, Stories of Culture, Connections and Belongingness

04:19that would be chaired by the Honorable Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sri Gajendra Singh

04:24Sekhawar.

04:26Friends, there would be several cultural performances every day in the evenings on 8th, 9th and

04:3210th of January.

04:33Considering the theme of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, we expect that the discussions

04:41would take place on how the diaspora can facilitate India's development, growth and its international

04:49engagements and on what opportunities India can offer to them, specifically the opportunities

04:56that are available in Odisha.
