02:28On behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs and the government of India,

02:33I warmly welcome all our friends from the media for this special briefing on the 18th

02:40Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention.

02:43For this special briefing, we have with us Shri Arun Chatterjee, Secretary, CPD and OIA

02:49in the Ministry of External Affairs.

02:52We also have with us Shri Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha.

02:59As also we are joined by Shri Sanjay Singh, who is Principal Secretary, looking after

03:06information and public relations affairs in the Government of Odisha.

03:10We also have with us Shri Ankan Banerjee, Joint Secretary, Rajpora Engagement in the Ministry

03:16of External Affairs and Shri Saroj Samal, Director in the Government of Odisha.

03:23With that, I invite Secretary CPD to make his opening remarks.

03:30But before that, ladies and gentlemen, once we have had opening remarks from the Principal,

04:06Good afternoon and thank you all for joining us today for this special briefing on the

04:14upcoming 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas that would be held, as you know, in Bhubaneswar

04:20from tomorrow, that is from 8th to 10th of January 2025 in partnership with the State

04:28Government of Odisha.

04:30The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is being organized for the first time in the

04:35state of Odisha, which is famous for its rich historical, cultural and spiritual heritage.

04:43As you are aware that since 2017, the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conventions are being held

04:52once every two years.

04:54The last Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was held at Indore in January 2025.
