Auli’I Cravalho caught up with Billboard's Tetris Kelly at the 2025 Golden Globes.

00:02Moana 2, how was it to jump back into those shoes again

00:05and fill such an iconic role?

00:06Oh, it feels so incredible.

00:08It's never guaranteed that we get to have a sequel,

00:10and for a film like Moana that was already so beloved,

00:12we knew that the fans wanted a little more,

00:14and secretly so did I,

00:15so I'm very glad that we got to go beyond the reef.

00:18And the songs are so good.

00:19I really enjoyed listening to the music.

00:20What was your favorite one to do?

00:22Ooh, I loved Beyond.

00:23I feel like it answered the question

00:25that we posed in our first film,

00:27how far I'll go, I'll go beyond,

00:29and I love Barlow and Bear for giving me also

00:31such a treat vocally to dive into that character.

00:34They're so good.

00:34And I love the call back to,

00:35I am Moana, so good.

00:37Got chills.

00:38Thank you, thank you.

00:39And then, I mean, how do you feel about, like,

00:41the success of the film?

00:42I think obviously we know Moana's such a beloved franchise,

00:45but to see it go and be breaking more records,

00:48how does that feel?

00:48It's broken as many records as I think we possibly could

00:52for an opening weekend and week,

00:54and it feels so wonderful

00:55that the fans have wanted more of this character,

00:58and I hope I never have to say goodbye to her.

01:00And how do you feel when you're seeing

01:01the live-action stuff be leaked and stuff?

01:03How are you, are you excited for the live-action remake?

01:05I have seen all of the leaks.

01:07They have made it onto my For You page,

01:08and I absolutely love it.

01:10I am so proud to be an executive producer on that film,

01:12and I can't wait to see the Moana universe

01:13continue to expand.

01:14And outside of the Moana soundtrack,
