00:00Preparations for the translation of Jesus Nazareno continues.

00:03On January 9, and just now, the Devotees are already filling up the Chiapu Church.

00:11The government has filled up more than 14,000 police and security personnel

00:23At 5 in the morning, hours of mass began at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Chiapu, Manila.

00:33This is part of the preparations for the upcoming translation on January 9.

00:37The inside of the Church is full of devotees on the first Saturday of 2025.

00:42The preparations for the translation are in full swing.

00:44Millions of devotees are expected to come from different parts of the country.

00:49One of the highlights this year is the major innovation in the design of the Nazareno pavement.

00:54There is a new glass panel placed in the upper enclosure so that natural light can enter

01:00and people can see the image from a higher place.

01:03In addition, an exhaust fan and ventilation system were added to avoid the moisture issues experienced last year.

01:12In order to avoid the incident of some devotees climbing in front of the pavement,

01:16additional steps were added to the design.

01:18This year, no one can step in front of the pavement.

01:22Malacanang also announced the declaration of a special non-working holiday,

01:26January 9, in the city of Manila, as a celebration of the National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.

01:31At the same time, all classes in the city will be suspended.

01:35Meanwhile, the gun ban will be implemented from January 8 to 11

01:39and the liquor ban around Chiapu from January 8 to 10

01:43to ensure the safety of the celebration.

01:45In 2024, more than 6 million devotees will be included in the translation.

01:50More than 14,000 police and security personnel will be deployed for the well-being and safety of the devotees.
