00:04During the Ayutthaya period, a simple red flag symbolized the nation.

00:09In the early Rattanakosin era, King Rama I added the white jagra,

00:13the emblem of the Jagri dynasty. Later, King Rama II included a white elephant.

00:19Under King Rama IV, the jagra was replaced with just a white elephant.

00:24King Rama VI transformed Thailand's national flag to 3 significant versions,

00:29starting with the elephant on the pedestal, red and white stripes, and finally a version

00:33that we see today was inspired by the global trends during World War I.

00:38Many allied nations adopted tricolor flags of red, white, and blue.

00:43Now over a century later, it still waves proudly and symbolizes the identity of Thailand.
