Housing crisis: Should open spaces be built on?

Does Birmingham need more housing, and where should new homes be built? We ask locals how they feel about building on open spaces or fields to meet housing demands. Is it a necessary step, or does it go too far?

00:06lead to extra housing and the way that we're talking about, I don't agree with.

00:11I think the answer to the housing question lies elsewhere.

00:14It should be allowed, these ex-industrial sites, they should be built on and we should have more housing for people,

00:24local people as well, as well as everybody else, should be an opportunity to have it.

00:30Definitely no more housing, the traffic's a nightmare, we just had like three or four new housing developments built

00:36and it's, I don't know, it's just ruined the whole town, it's just, you can't get anywhere.

00:40So I'd say probably against more housing where I'm from.

00:44Yeah, Swindon definitely doesn't need any more housing.

00:47That's all they've got.

00:48That's all it is and definitely not on open green spaces, that's going to ruin any sort of going outside.
