00:00A participant in a drag battle died in an accident during the race at the Sandakan Turf
00:15Club circuit, Batu 5, on Saturday.
00:18The incident occurred at 4.44pm, when the victim, 36-year-old Brunei national Abang
00:25Adib Abang Ali, lost control of his Honda vehicle after crossing the finish line.
00:30The car veered off to the left of the circuit, trapping him inside.
00:34Acting Sandakan District Police Chief Superintendent K. Ramasamy stated that the fire department
00:39extricated the victim, who sustained severe injuries.
00:43He was transported to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced
00:48dead at 5.25pm.
00:51The victim's body is currently at the hospital's forensic unit, pending an autopsy.
00:56The case has been classified as a sudden death report, and investigations are ongoing.
