00:09We're focusing on our Christmas and December drink drive campaign.

00:13It's very well known that at this time of year people consume more alcohol.

00:17When's the last time you consumed anything alcoholic, sir?

00:21When you start consuming alcohol you believe that your body can

00:24can deal with the intoxicants. Actually it starts to affect you in different ways.

00:28Most people are unable to control their vehicles.

00:31That's the reason that they crash and unfortunately some of those crashes

00:34result in serious and fatal accidents.

00:38The worst thing for us is eventually a crash or somebody's had a drink and

00:41we've got to go around and tell families the worst news ever, you know.

00:44A lot of people have become very very good now

00:47at getting a taxi home, walking and not driving after

00:52a few drinks. What they don't realise is that they may go to sleep for just

00:56three or four hours and they'll then get up in the morning

00:58but they're still affected by those intoxicants.

01:01So we're here just to stop, check people, pass that message out

01:04and make people aware of those risks.
