00:00Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections approved the Certificate of Candidacy of Marcelino Marci Echidoro

00:06for running as the Marikina 1st District Representative.

00:10This was followed by a material misrepresentation of where Echidoro really lives.

00:17According to the ruling of the Commonwealth,

00:19it was not proven that Echidoro is a resident of the 1st District

00:23at least a year before the May 2025 polls.

00:27The decision in the 1987 Constitution

00:31that states that a congressional aspirant who wants to serve in the District

00:36should not be removed from his residence for a year

00:41is also included in the two notarized legal documents that Echidoro read

00:45that he is a resident of the 2nd District.

00:48Because of this, the Commission canceled the COC of the so-called candidate

00:53under the Omnibus Election Code.

00:55Brothers and sisters, the Mayor of Marikina has an undefeated election record

00:59since 1992 when he became the Councilor

01:03until he became the Mayor of Marikina in 2016.
