On Sunday (December 8), people entered the Muhajreen presidential palace in Damascus after Syrian rebels announced they had ousted President Bashar al-Assad and seized control of the city. The Russian foreign ministry said Assad left Damascus for an undisclosed location earlier on Sunday.
