Thank you for joining us. Fresh off an incredible strike on Tuesday night, we're preparing to
00:04
take on Stevenage this weekend. Firstly, how's the mood in camp?
00:07
I think everyone's obviously happy with the win. We fought hard for it, so yeah, I think
00:11
feelings are good going into the next game and everyone's happy.
00:14
Yeah, we'll talk a little bit about your goal in a minute, but firstly, how's your first
00:18
few months at Crawley Bean? Because obviously it was a bit of a chaotic start for you. You
00:21
obviously came with us, signed, did all the media and then it took a little while for
00:25
it to get announced, but you've sort of worked your way into the team and scored lots of
00:28
goals, so how have you been finding it?
00:30
Yeah, just adjusting. I found it good. The first couple of weeks I'm just getting used
00:35
to English football. I've been in America for a while, so just adapting, but I'm really
00:39
enjoying it here. The lads have made me feel welcome, both the coach and staff. Loving
00:45
it so far.
00:46
Yeah, what are the main differences from obviously playing over in the States now? Have you been
00:50
talking with Jeremy Kelly about that? Has he given you some advice about what the main
00:54
differences to the English game are?
00:56
Yeah, when I first came, he was just explaining to me what he thought and stuff. I'd say it's
01:02
a lot more intense here in physical, but I think there's a lot of good players out in
01:07
America and there's a lot of good players here. At the end of the day, it's just football,
01:11
so just dealing with the intensity and the physical play, but yeah, I'm adjusting and
01:17
it's good.
01:18
Yeah, and obviously those nerves would have been settled a lot by your first goal for
01:22
Crawley at Maidenhead and then obviously going on to score a couple in the league as well
01:25
and obviously one in the FA Cup, so it must be nice to get those goals early and really
01:28
settle into the team.
01:29
Yeah, 100 per cent. As a striker, your job is to score goals, so getting the first one
01:33
off your back is really important and you just feel like you can go on from there. The
01:38
first one in the cup was a special one for me, to be fair, because it was my first goal
01:42
back in England and yeah, just kicking on from there.
01:45
Yeah, and we seem to have slightly changed the way we play. Obviously for a long time
01:49
Swan were up front in the zone, but you've been coming in the last few games to assist.
01:53
It seems to have benefited both of you really well. Do you agree with that?
01:56
Yeah, I think so. I really enjoy playing with Swanee. He can come under, we can link the
02:00
play. He's given me a couple assists already, so yeah, I'm enjoying it and yeah, it's a
02:04
bit of a system, just a slight tweak in the system, but yeah, I think it's working well
02:09
so far.
02:10
Brilliant. Yeah, talking about Swanee, how do you build that relationship with another
02:14
striker? Is it just talking to him and obviously working at training as well?
02:18
Yeah, I think it's communication on the pitch and off the pitch and then working at it in
02:23
training because obviously we practice the patterns in training, like linking up with
02:27
each other, so that helps and also communication on the pitch. I know he presses, I'm coming
02:32
back in and if I press, I know where he's going to be. When he has the ball, I tell
02:36
him where I'd prefer and stuff like that, so yeah.
02:39
Yeah, and the goal on Tuesday night, I'm sure it's going to go down in Trawley history as
02:43
one of the great goals kind of thing. Can you just talk us through it from the moment
02:47
you got the ball, what your thoughts were?
02:49
I mean, probably have to include, like, go up for the header from Referee and it goes
02:53
to Swanee. He does really well to get it back to me. I just take a touch out of my feet,
02:58
take one more touch and I realise I'm in a shooting position, so I just wrap my foot
03:02
around it and thankfully it ends up in the other top corner.
03:06
Yeah, it was a shame it wasn't in front of the Crawley fans because the Crawley fans
03:09
have been magnificent, haven't they? How have you found them since you've been here?
03:13
It's been amazing just to see the atmosphere and the passion around the club. It's been
03:17
a really cool thing for me to be a part of and, yeah, you could hear them from the other
03:22
end of the stadium going crazy, so yeah, it made it even better.
03:25
Yeah, and this squad is obviously, there seems to be a lot of togetherness with the squad.
03:29
How far can they go this season? Can you really rise up that table, do you believe?
03:33
Yeah, I think as far as we push, we obviously have the quality and the talent and the passion
03:39
here, so I think we'll go as far as we push. I believe we're a great team and just we have
03:45
to try and win every game and see how it goes.
