00:08This, the president stressed anew in his message on the occasion of the 33rd Anti-Terrorism

00:14Council gathering and year-end celebration in Malacanang, as covered by our own Clay

00:22The safety of every Filipino.

00:25This remains a top priority for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:30During the 33rd Anti-Terrorism Council meeting held at Malacanang, the President reaffirmed

00:35his unwavering support for the Council's efforts.

00:39The ATC serves as the lead agency dedicated to identifying, preventing, and combating

00:45terrorism.

00:47He recognized the vital initiatives of the Council in addressing terrorist groups both

00:52within and beyond the nation's borders.

00:55One of the ATC's key measures is the freezing of assets, a decisive action to block individuals

01:01connected to terrorism from using their resources to spread violence and fear, ensuring they

01:08are immobilized and neutralized without causing harm.

01:12In addition to dismantling terrorist organizations, the government is focused on addressing the

01:17root causes of extremism.

01:20Efforts include empowering local leaders and encouraging youth participation through

01:24dialogues aimed at fostering unity and building a stronger and more resilient Philippines.

01:31The Marcos Jr. Administration is also enhancing partnerships with international entities such

01:37as the United Nations and regional organizations to bolster the country's capabilities in

01:43addressing transnational threats.

01:46Parallel to the fight against terrorism is an unwavering commitment to protecting the

01:51nation's territory and sovereignty.

01:54During the oath-taking of 36 newly promoted generals and flag officers of the Armed Forces

01:59of the Philippines, or AFP, the Commander-in-Chief reiterated his Administration's steadfast

02:05support for the military.

02:07He underscored the importance of programs and initiatives designed to enhance the AFP's

02:13capabilities, including the recently launched Combined Coordination Center with the United

02:17States.

02:18It is a leap forward in our modernization efforts, reinforcing our interoperability

02:23with allies and strengthening our defense capabilities under the Mutual Defense Board

02:28Concept Plan.

02:29Additionally, the AFP recently held a joint exercise, the GITPAC, showcasing their readiness

02:35and strength.

02:37These exercises equip our forces as they address evolving security threats and operationalize

02:43the comprehensive archipelagic defense concept.

02:46Above all, let us pursue the dreams of every Filipino through every mission that we have

02:56accomplished, every sacrifice we have made, and every step we have taken in order to succeed.

03:10but solemn reminders of their duty to safeguard the nation.
