00:13However, the Ayakero Sessions Court on Tuesday ordered the prison term for each sentence

00:19to be served concurrently, meaning the 51-year-old accused will spend 15 years behind bars.

00:25Zemi Rahim admitted to have committed the offences between September and October last

00:30year at secluded locations along Jalan Taman Malam Jaya and an industrial park near a supermarket

00:37in Cheng.

00:39The facts of the case revealed the accused had visited the 16-year-old victim's home

00:44to treat her aunt, but told the victim's 48-year-old mother that her daughter also

00:49required treatment as she was supposedly possessed by an evil spirit.

00:54He then took the victim to the secluded area where he sexually assaulted her.

00:59The abuse continued on several occasions until the victim reported the incidents.

01:04Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Asnini Kamaruddin had requested a severe sentence as the victim

01:10was a minor and had been traumatised.

01:13The accused, a father of four, was unrepresented and appealed to the court to have his sentences

01:18to run concurrently from his arrest on October 16 last year.
