Anwar lauds Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon has the potential to prevent further attacks and hostilities, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.  Speaking at the Talk with the Prime Minister session during the Putrajaya Festival of Ideas (FOI) on Thursday, the Prime Minister also expressed concerns not only about the situation in Lebanon but the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and the West Bank as well. 00:05if since Lebanon was able to achieve a ceasefire yesterday,

00:12I would like your opinion if Gaza would be able to as well.

00:22You know, any attempt and initiative to seek an amicable resolution

00:28to the conflict is welcomed.

00:30Although we are still waiting for details,

00:33but for now, the ceasefire seems to be something positive.

00:38But there are certain reservations, concerns by many quarters.

00:42We will have to monitor closely.

00:45But to me, what's important, of course, is a ceasefire,

00:48because then we should at least avoid any further aggression, attacks.

00:56But my concern is also not only South Lebanon, which is critical in this case,

01:01but also in Gaza and the West Bank.
