00:00How about the Houston Texans, right?

00:0510-7 last year, coming out of the blue, no one expected that at all.

00:10A lot of people jumped on their bandwagon this year.

00:13I did to a certain extent, but I was keeping my expectations to a minimum.

00:18Going from a last-place schedule to a first-place schedule in the NFL

00:21doesn't sound like that big a deal, but it really is.

00:24Here they sit, they're 7-5.

00:26They lost three of their last four, four of their last five.

00:29Only scored 17 more points than what they've given up.

00:32Them losing last Sunday is keeping the Colts, as mediocre as they are,

00:37alive in the AFC South.

00:39I do expect the Texans to ultimately win the South,

00:41but any thought of them challenging in the postseason,

00:45the way they're playing right now, they're at that point.

00:48Again, separation Saturday.

00:50If they lose to Jacksonville, which is coming off a bite on Sunday,

00:54and then they fall to 7-6, again, they'll win the division,

00:57but they'll be thrown into the category of the NFC South.

01:00Okay, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay, whatever, you'll win,

01:03but are you seriously going to contend?

01:05No.

01:06I think a lot of people thought the Texans would seriously contend this year,

01:09but it hasn't happened.

01:11I thought they'd win the division.

01:13I didn't think they'd contend for the Bulls or anything like that.

01:15I thought they was a little overplayed here.

01:17That defense still has issues.

01:19We know that it's average at best.

01:22They've got some pass rushes there.

01:24They can get to the quarterback,

01:25but they have problems on the second level and the secondary there.

01:27It's a work in progress.

01:29I don't think that's a surprise.

01:32You sort of knew that.

01:33C.J. Stroud has regressed some.

01:35Maybe teams are seeing him a second year offseason, have a book on him now.

01:38It can't all be because of the injuries.

01:41You lost Diggs, but, you know, Collins, Dell.

01:45I know Collins was out too.

01:46We always had somebody.

01:47Schultz hasn't been all that great, but Mixon has been fantastic.

01:50Been really good, better than expected by anybody.

01:54The offensive line is, once again, so-so.

01:56That can be an issue as well, especially with the passing game.

01:58I'll tell you this, though.

02:00If they lose to Jacksonville on Sunday, and, you know, there's a shot here.

02:04Jacksonville is coming over by.

02:05They think Trevor Lawrence could play.

02:07If it was Mack Jones, there's no chance in hell they're losing.

02:09But if it's Trevor Lawrence, it wouldn't be the ultimate,

02:12oh, my God, what the hell happened here.

02:14I'd be surprised, but I wouldn't be shocked.

02:16But if they lose to Jacksonville, they're not winning the division.

02:19I'm not so sure they make the playoffs.

02:20After that, they play Miami, who's as hot as anybody in the NFL,

02:24Kansas City, Baltimore.

02:28Yeah, that can be real hard, real quick for Houston.

02:31So I don't think they lose Sunday.

02:33I don't.

02:34But, you know, hey, I didn't think they'd lose Tennessee either.

02:37So we'll see how it goes here, but they got to put us to bed here.
