A 53-year-old pastor has been charged with the murder of his mother whose body was kept in a freezer at their home in Taman OUG three years ago.

N. Deanesh was accused of murdering 77-year-old Catherine Daniel between March 21 and March 26, 2021.

00:00A 53-year-old pastor has been charged with the murder of his mother three years ago.
00:09N. Dinesh was accused of murdering his 77-year-old mother, Catherine Daniel, at a house in Taman OUG.
00:20He allegedly committed the offence between March 21st and March 26th, 2021.
00:29The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a death sentence or imprisonment
00:36between 30 and 40 years and a minimum 12 strokes of the roten.
00:45No plea was recorded as murder cases are under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
00:51Magistrate Atika Mohamed Seym fixed February 7th for mention.
00:57It was reported that the victim's son contacted the police on November 12th and told them
01:03he was not well and had stuffed his mother's body in a freezer at their home.
01:08He was standing next to the freezer when police arrived.
01:12The man was said to have financial problems and suffering from a chronic illness.
01:18Police identified a personal disagreement as the motive behind the murder.
01:25Sources said the disagreement was over a religious issue.
01:30The preliminary cause of death was chest injuries due to blunt force trauma.
