Another Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) cadet was  charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Friday (Nov 22) with causing hurt to a junior using a spiked boot.  Mohd Adil Mat Awang Ghani, 22, allegedly voluntarily caused hurt on Muhammad Haziq Iqbal, 19, by stepping the victim's stomach using a spiked boot. 00:1122-year-old Muhammad Adil Mat Awang Gani claimed trial when charged before Magistrate Noralina Hanim Abdul Halim on Friday.

00:20When asked for his plea, Muhammad Adil answered,

00:24I plead not guilty ma'am.

00:26The charge sheet states Muhammad Adil allegedly voluntarily caused hurt on 19-year-old Muhammad Haziq Iqbal

00:33by stepping on the victim's stomach using a spiked boot.

00:37The offence was allegedly committed at a field located at the Military Training Academy at UPNM on October 21st night.

00:46The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to one year or fine up to 2000 ringgit or both if convicted.

00:56Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Sabri Othman offered bail at 10,000 ringgit

01:01and asked the court to impose an order for the accused not to come near the complainant in the case.

01:07Lawyer Nurul Diana Bashir from the National Legal Aid Foundation representing Muhammad Adil mitigated for a lower bail

01:14considering that her client was still undergoing military training and strict conditions by the court may affect the training.

01:21Magistrate Noralina Hanim fixed bail at 5,000 ringgit and fixed February 10th next year for mention.

01:29Earlier this month another UPNM cadet Amirul Iskandar Nohanizan claimed trial at the Sessions Court

01:37to voluntarily causing hurt to another junior by using a hot steam iron.
