00:06JICA also assessed the performance of the Philippines in responding to the incident.

00:17The Philippines and the Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA

00:24will look for ways to strengthen the early warning system in the country.

00:28The early warning system is a mechanism that is used to give a quick warning to incoming dangers or incidents.

00:40This was discussed after the courtesy call of JICA President Dr. Tanaka Akihiko to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Malacanang.

00:50According to the President, new technologies are important to address the challenges faced by climate change.

00:59The Executive Board of the Philippine Government also gave the continuation of programs aimed at clean energy,

01:06which is one of the solutions for the changing times.

01:20JICA is one of the agencies of Japan that provides support to various countries, including the Philippines.

01:36It assessed the outstanding performance of the Philippines in responding to the incident,

01:41which can be compared to advanced or more advanced countries.

01:46It can be considered as a low number of casualties in the Philippines despite the many typhoons that hit our country.

01:55Akihiko believes that Japan and the Philippines will play a major role in disaster management in the global community.

02:05As a country, sharing the same fate involves having lots of high winds,

02:15but the recent experience has forced us to continue our collaborative work in order for disaster reduction.

02:30As part of the preparation for the disaster, the Presidential Communications Office is cooperating with JICA

02:39to digitize PTV4 through its Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting,

02:46a target of the so-called project to establish an Emergency Warning Broadcast System.
