Sam Carling MP on Helping Our Ukrainian Friends

North West Cambridgeshire MP Sam Carling pays tribute to the work of the volunteers of the Helping Our Ukrainian Friends group.

00:00On Saturday I had the privilege of attending an annual art exhibition run by an organisation

00:05called Helping Our Ukrainian Friends in North West Cambridgeshire and it's a small organisation

00:09from a number of rural villages but they've been able to raise over £300,000 in financial

00:15support for Ukraine as well as over 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid which they've delivered

00:19over the course of 20 trips. Will the Foreign Secretary join me in congratulating this group

00:24and thanking people across our country who've made personal efforts to support Ukraine?

00:28Well I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to reply to the Honourable Gentleman. He's

00:34absolutely right. The volunteer spirit across this country, Madam Deputy Speaker, has been

00:40extraordinary. People making so many missions to Ukraine, facing danger, going into Poland

00:49to support on the borders. It's quite incredible and of course I congratulate all those in

00:54his constituency for the work that they have done.
