00:00Great numbers for the 27th edition of Ecomondo, the biggest ever.

00:13It closed with new records at the international event dedicated to Green and Circular Economy,

00:18organized by Italian Exhibition Group at the Fiera di Rimini.

00:22Presences at 5% more than the previous edition, plus 4% those from abroad.

00:281,620 exhibitors who occupied 166,000 square meters in the Fiera district,

00:35expanded with two new pavilions to answer a growing demand from companies.

00:42A meeting place for the technological innovation of companies, the world of research,

00:47professionals in the sector and international delegations

00:50who have participated in over 200 conventions and workshops in the program.

00:55Ecomondo has been showing its growth for years,

00:58and the reason is probably due to the fact that, first of all,

01:02Italy is an important country in the circular economy sector,

01:06it is growing at an important rate, 6% more than last year,

01:12it is positioned very well on the issue of recovery and recycling,

01:16we are at 72% against a European average of 65%,

01:23and we also have the promise that in the next few years,

01:28until 2030, probably 300,000 jobs will be created through the circular economy.

01:36Ecomondo is the collector of all this knowledge,

01:41it is the place that has become a leader in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin

01:48on the issue of the green economy and the circular economy.

01:52A novelty compared to this year is the whole issue of climate change prevention.

01:59The use of big data, artificial intelligence, monitoring,

02:05will be the essential tools to prevent what we are now used to

02:11considering disasters that once were extraordinary

02:15and that are becoming more and more ordinary in our world.

02:19So Ecomondo is a great opportunity to relaunch the theme of the environment

02:25and the attention that humans must have to the environment

02:29to be able to live in harmony on this planet.

02:34Climate change is part of the current situation we are experiencing,

02:38hence the action of the institutions on mitigation and adaptation.

02:42On the other hand, we are growing with renewables.

02:45The fact that we have surpassed fossil energy production during 2024

02:55in the first half of the year is a relevant fact.

02:58Then, of course, it is an element, because the goal must be seen in a longer period,

03:03it must be seen with the goal of 2030 and then 2050.

03:06But we are growing with wind, with photovoltaics,

03:10we are renewing the geothermal concessions of the new generation.

03:15And so the path, the road is this, on the front of mitigation,

03:20to take note that we are in the middle of the Mediterranean,

03:24the Mediterranean is one of the warmest seas,

03:26the contrast is such that what we thought should never happen

03:31or could happen every few hundred years,

03:34unfortunately it is much more frequent.
