00:02But who would have thought that the world-famous Coca-Cola

00:05was just a medicine to treat headaches at first?

00:10Coca-Cola is named after two ingredients in the original formula,

00:13namely Coca-5, which contains cocaine,

00:16and Coca-Cola, which contains caffeine.

00:18The story of Coca-Cola goes like this.

00:21In 1886, American pharmacist John Pemberton

00:23invented a syrup that could treat colds and headaches

00:26and sold it in his pharmacy.

00:27One day, his assistant accidentally mixed carbonated water and syrup

00:31and accidentally created the original formula of Coca-Cola.

00:34This coincidence caused Pemberton to find a chance.

00:36He began to adjust and improve the syrup formula.

00:39The next year, Pemberton transferred part of the equity

00:41to another pharmacist, Cantor,

00:43and began to expand the business.

00:45In 1892, Cantor obtained exclusive and sales rights

00:47for Coca-Cola formula for $2,300

00:50and established the Coca-Cola company we all know today

00:52and wrote the unbeaten myth of the global beverage industry.
