00:00While the 5th in the series of typhoons hit the Philippines in the last few weeks,

00:07some asked, why does it seem like only one of these types of typhoons are hitting the Philippines?

00:41it is expected that the public will be prepared for the upcoming 2 typhoons, Ophel and Pepito.

00:46These typhoons are the 5th and 6th typhoons to hit the country.

00:51Some towns in the Cagayan Valley region have not yet been affected by the typhoon.

00:54But the eastern coast of Isabela and Cagayan is expected to be hit by the next typhoon.

00:59Because of the lack of typhoons, the public is now wondering.

01:03The so-called track of the 3 typhoons, Nica, Ophel, and Manny,

01:10are supposedly the same.

01:12Why are they initially the same?

01:16In the light of hope, the track of the typhoon is expected to be north of the Philippines.

01:20But there is a weather system that prevents typhoons,

01:22that is why it passes through Northern Luzon.

01:24Typhoons prevent the reach of high-pressure areas.

01:28Because it is in the northern part, it cannot move to the south.

01:32It moves more on the westward side.

01:35According to the research conducted by PTV,

01:37this scenario happened in 1948,

01:39where 6 typhoons entered the country in the month of November.

01:43This happened again in 1956.

01:455 typhoons in the month of November.

01:47The place where it was formed is also a big factor,

01:50especially this storm cluster.

01:52It happens whenever the temperature of the Pacific Ocean is high,

01:55which is at 27 degrees Celsius.

01:57The high temperature in this part of the Pacific Ocean,

02:02is where the next typhoons pass through the country.

02:05If there is anything different happening now in the formation of typhoons,

02:08that is the decrease of its number.

02:10It was monitored until 1948,

02:13when the scientific records of the track of the typhoon started.

02:16The number of typhoons entering the park is decreasing.

02:21The frequency is decreasing.

02:23But in terms of intensity of the typhoons,

02:26that is the increasing trend that we are seeing.

02:29Our typhoons are becoming more intense.

02:32In fact, based on our historical record,

02:36from 1948 up to 2023,

02:39typhoons are the most common category.

02:43Fortunately, there is still no indication that typhoons can push down

02:47on the track of typhoons entering.

02:49If the North East Monsoon, Visayas, or Mindanao is strong,

02:52the typhoons will hit.

02:54It is possible that when December comes,

02:56two more typhoons will enter,

02:58which is expected to form in the Pacific Ocean after Pipito.

03:01DSWD is sure that the 92,302 Family Food Packs are ready for Cagayan Valley.

03:07Aside from that,

03:092.2 billion pesos of assistance is on standby for the typhoon to hit.

03:15more than 80 million pesos of additional standby fund,

03:181.3 million Family Food Packs,

03:20and more than 860 million of non-food items.

03:24The government's target is that no one will be hungry and zero casualty

03:28even if the country is hit by the next typhoon.
