WebSummit 2024: ‘Glastonbury for Geeks’ gets underway

The Web Summit has begun in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. Music superstar Pharrell Williams was among those who took part in the opening ceremony.

00:08people like Brad Smith, the president of Microsoft, Pharrell Williams are going to

00:13speak. Web Summit is essentially a huge web fair or Congress where tech people

00:22come to talk. They call it the Glastonbury of Geeks and we're waiting

00:26for it all to kick off. You can see the stadium behind me is full. Opening

00:32ceremony is just about to start.
