Next generation surgery to treat tumors and a ‘smart ozone system’ are among the array of new tech on display at the China International Import Expo (CIIE).

00:00This is the Intelligent Industry and Information Technology Hall at the 7th CIE,

00:05showcasing all the latest cutting-edge technologies.

00:07It's as packed as last year, with exhibitors busy presenting their innovations

00:12and visitors eager to see what's on offer.

00:14In the past, it was always about drugs.

00:17Based in Silicon Valley, the company ZAP makes what it calls the Next Generation Surgical Device,

00:23specifically designed for radiation treatment for brain tumors.

00:26My company ZAP Surgical makes the ZAP-X that make it possible to operate without blood,

00:31without pain, and on an outpatient basis.

00:34I believe it is part of the next generation of surgery revolution.

00:38Adler believes the surgical instrument needs a big market like China.

00:42CIE is here about the future.

00:45And I think we're trying to find products that will advance the world at large,

00:50but especially here in the Chinese market.

00:52China now being a country of the future, a nation of the future,

00:55I'm excited to be here to tell the story.

00:57Like ZAP, German optical company ZEISS is focused on business strategy in China.

01:03For CIE, 100% of the products were products which were being imported.

01:09If you look on the booth today, 50% of the products are products which have been developed in China,

01:15manufactured in China, either in our ZEISS facilities, in our R&D centers, or together with local partners.

01:22So it shows you a bit how the CIE has really brought the community together to develop new ideas and innovation.

01:31For Xilin, a water equipment supplier, the goal is building a safer world for water resources.

01:37At this year's China International Import Expo, the company showcased products like a smart ozone system

01:43designed to support water treatment plants.

01:46Every year we come here, it is an open platform.

01:50We will see a lot of cutting edge technology.

01:53It is also a platform for us to showcase our advanced water treatment technology.

02:00So we have a platform to interchange with our partners, with our eco-partners here.

02:07And this is really, China is a hotbed for innovation and high tech.

02:12She said as an innovative solution provider, China is the best place for the company.
