02:29Elections Chairman George Garcia says the Commission on Elections will continue accepting

02:33certificates of candidacy for the Bangsamoro until November 9 for the 2025 parliamentary

02:38elections of the autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao or Barm.

02:42This despite Senate President Francis Escudero's announcement that he would file a bill to

02:46postpone the parliamentary elections.

02:48Garcia, who arrived in Cotabato for the start of the filing period, says only a legislative

02:53act could alter the COMELEC schedule.

02:55Escudero notes a recent Supreme Court ruling excludes Sulu province from the predominantly

02:59Muslim region.

03:01Sulu was initially allocated seven representatives in the Barm Parliament.

03:05Escudero notes the decision could affect party list and sexual representation in the regional

03:09legislative body.

03:11Barm's interim parliament, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, passed a resolution

03:15on October 22, delaying the region's first regular parliamentary elections from 2025

03:20to 2028.

03:24Israel terminates its agreement with the United Nations that regulates its relations with

03:27the main UN relief organization for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA.

03:32The agreement had been in place since 1967.

03:35UNRWA provides aid and education services to millions of Palestinians in the occupied

03:39West Bank and Gaza.

03:41Last month, the Israeli parliament banned UNRWA from operating in Israel and stopped

03:45Israeli authorities from cooperating with it.

03:48This doesn't directly outlaw UNRWA operations in occupied Palestine, considered by international

03:53law to be outside Israel but under its occupation.

03:57Israel has long been critical of UNRWA, accusing it of anti-Israel bias.

04:01Meantime, at least 31 people are killed during Israel's Gaza assault on Sunday, November

04:063.

04:07Yesterday, at least 13 Palestinians were killed in attacks on houses in Gaza's largest historic

04:12refugee camps.

04:14Angry crowds throw mud and chant murderers at the Spanish king and queen as they visited

04:19flood-hit Valencia in Spain, which suffered the worst of the catastrophic flooding.

04:23The torrential rains and flash flooding killed 217 people, most of them in the Valencia region
