Thousands join Women’s March on Washington as US debates rights of women during presidential campaign

Thousands of women have marched towards to White House in Washington DC just days before the US election. Top of their agenda- Abortion rights.

00:07These people are marching for women's rights, in particular a woman's right to make choices

00:13It's something that's emerged as a central theme of this year's presidential election.

00:17This crowd blames Donald Trump for appointing the conservative judges who overturned Roe

00:23v. Wade and limited access to abortion in the United States.

00:29They're chanting Roe Your Vote and facing off against pro-life demonstrators who have

00:34made an appearance and insist casting a vote next Tuesday is not enough.

00:39Women are a key voting bloc for Kamala Harris and she has a lot of supporters in this crowd.

00:45Harris hopes to not just inspire Democrats to get out and vote, but also convince Republicans

00:50to flip sides.

00:52In a nail-biter of an election, Tuesday's result could be decided on gender lines.

00:56I have nieces, I have granddaughters, and even though this doesn't affect me probably,

01:02women are already dying and I just think it's a matter of life and death.

01:05This is the first time in history that this election has brought women of all colors together

01:12on an abortion issue for real.

01:14We have four more years, again, of Donald Trump.

01:19It will destroy all of the work that we have done in this country.

01:27Women marching on Washington DC became a regular occurrence after Donald Trump's win in 2016.
