Dozens rally for women's rights in Washington after Trump win
Dozens of protesters rallied for women's reproductive rights in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 9, just days after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s election win.
Protesters believe that Trump’s incoming administration will further erode reproductive healthcare access, including contraception and fertility treatments, not long after the country’s mostly conservative-aligned Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in 2022 to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. The move triggered a wave of restrictive abortion laws in Republican-controlled states.
Although Trump has declined to endorse a national abortion ban, he has said the decision should be left to individuals states.
