00:00The La Union Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for the Surfing Break and Undas 2024 is now on heightened alert.

00:16The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for the La Union Surfing Break 2024 and Undas 2024 is now on heightened alert.

00:27The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for the La Union Surfing Break 2024 and Undas 2024 is now on heightened alert.

00:37Due to the bad weather in the past few days that affected the province,

00:42the PDRRMO was the first to implement measures to ensure the safety of locals and tourists.

00:48Even though the León Tsunami is already out in the Philippine Area of Responsibility,

00:52it is believed that the San Juan and Mactan beaches will still have high potential

00:57where activities related to the La Union Surfing Break will take place.

01:01That is why Governor Raffy Ortega de Vid ordered the PDRRMO to maintain the heightened alert status throughout the holiday season.

01:09The Provincial Incident Management Team has also been activated to oversee operations in case of emergency.

01:16The DRRMOs of the LGUs are continuously conducting roving operations in ponds and cemeteries to monitor and ensure the safety of the public.

01:26Beachgoers and surfers are being instructed to avoid activities in the water while the authorities are on standby in the sea

01:34to respond to any potential hazards caused by the sea.
