00:00Because it's the first day, CDC Day, we will bring to you the programs and projects of the Clark Development Corporation

00:06for the continued development of the Clark Freeport Zone towards a new Philippines.

00:12The CDC did various activities to strengthen the aviation industry,

00:16including the extensive skills training for aviation students.

00:22Meanwhile, the CDC is also supportive of one of the leaders in aviation education in Clark,

00:28who provides world-class training to its students.

00:32Here is the special report.

00:46The Clark Development Corporation continues to address the needs of the aviation industry,

00:52particularly in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul sector in Clark,

00:57especially in the hiring of skilled workers.

01:00Under the leadership of CDC President and CEO Attorney Agnes V. Esti-Devanadera,

01:05various activities were held, such as focus group discussions and sectoral meetings.

01:10This includes activities from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines or CAAP,

01:15Technical Education and Skills Development Authority or TESDA,

01:19Commission on Higher Education or CHED,

01:21and aviation schools such as Acatech Aviation College and Philippine State College of Aeronautics.

01:27Other locators from the aviation industry also came to participate in the discussions.

01:33The purpose of these activities is to make the workers in the MRO industry competitive.

01:39In addition, the curriculum is also intended for students in the aviation industry

01:46to give them sufficient skills to meet the needs of the industry.

01:52According to the forecast of Oliver Wyman's Global Fleet and MRO Market,

01:56the commercial aviation fleet is expected to reach 33% by 2033,

02:02which will be the benchmark for the continued increase in demand for MRO services.

02:08This is in line with the FGD, which has a large share in the skills taught in schools

02:15compared to the actual needs of companies in the MRO industry,

02:20including the companies inside the Clark Freeport Zone.

02:25It is also known that only a few pass the qualifying exams.

02:30Based on the data, only two out of the estimated 80 to 90 candidates,

02:36so the strengthening of the curriculum is encouraged to better meet the needs of companies.

02:44As a result of the activities conducted, a technical working group, TWG,

02:49was formed as part of the bodies from the government, the academy, and the aviation industry.

02:55TWG aims to build a more comprehensive and effective curriculum

03:00for aviation schools that meet the needs of the industry.

03:05The so-called TWG was established on October 15.

03:10TWG is formed by CDC, CAAP, CHED, and TESDA.

03:15Representatives of authorized training organizations are invited again,

03:20such as Patz College of Aeronautics,

03:22Hoxhon College, Inc., and Philippine State College of Aeronautics,

03:26as well as other Clark companies related to the MRO industry.

03:32The whole-of-government approach is expected,

03:34in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr.,

03:38to strengthen the empowerment of more skilled workers in the aviation industry.

03:45The COP is already doing a great job in the field of aviation.

03:53Aside from being a center of business and tourism,

03:56the Clark Freeport Zone is also known for having its own airport,

04:01the Clark International Airport.
