High pressure remains to the south, causing widespread cloud, patchy at times. Temperatures overnight will be lowest in southern regions and northeast Scotland, under clearer skies. In areas of clear skies and light winds, mist and fog patches may develop in the early hours of Thursday. Elsewhere, low pressure to the north bringing stronger winds as well as patchy rain and drizzle to much of Scotland, particularly highland and coastal areas, becoming more consistent into Thursday.
