00:00Before they head into action in the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championship,

00:05the Philippine National Dragon Boat Team held a press conference at the U-Hotel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:12Daryl Oclares has the details.

00:19The Philippine Dragon Boat Team is set to embark on their most challenging race before the year ends.

00:25The home squad will face the best paddlers from all over the world in the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships,

00:34slated from October 28 to November 4 in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:40Before the world meet commences, a press conference was held today for the national paddlers led by their team captain, OJ Fuentes.

00:49In an exclusive interview with PTV Sports, Fuentes said they are aiming to regain the overall championship previously won by the country in 2018.

00:59Of course, we are the host country. We want to beat our last record in the U.S.

01:07I hope we can do it, but we will do our best to achieve it. All athletes will do their best.

01:16The 26-year-old veteran athlete also gave a piece of advice to the next generation of paddlers who will also see action on the world stage.

01:25Just enjoy your passion for the Dragon Boat and do your best.

01:31If you are having a hard time, that's how it is. Not everything can be achieved easily.
