It's not an easy situation. There's no simple answer to any of this. We'll just have to keep
00:06
monitoring the situation and make sure always the rescue and relief are, that cannot stop.
00:16
It doesn't matter if there's another storm coming, we cannot stop. That cannot stop. And
00:20
then the support that we are giving, that the SWD giving, is those who have been displaced,
00:26
who are still in evacuation centers, or they are staying outside of their own homes, wherever
00:32
that might be, with relatives or friends, that also cannot stop. So those are the main
00:44
elements, I think.
00:45
Mr. President, we have already harvested about, depending on each area, 60 to 70 percent.
01:03
And actually before the storm hit, a week before the storm hit, we accelerated harvesting
01:09
and buying from NFA. So we'll have to make up for that 30 to 40 percent, if it's outright
01:21
destroyed.
01:22
Hopefully not, but yes. But we have enough stocks, sir. Then we have Kadiwa trucks also
01:31
going to Kamsur, and we also have NFA rice ordered by the LGUs being deployed as we speak
01:39
to prepare for what is coming. We also instructed NFA to send additional rice above and beyond
01:48
what was requested.
01:49
Thank you, sir.
01:50
And then we'll just keep me updated about the damages that our people are seeing in
01:57
terms of the agricultural sector.
02:00
All right. Well, that's the situation now. As we have already experienced, as we have
02:12
experienced many, many times, there are phases to the thing. There's the rescue phase, then
02:18
the relief phase, and then the recovery phase, where we start to bring our people back to
02:25
their normal homes, residences. We are, it is made much more complicated by the fact
02:39
that the effect of the storm is very wide. So what happened is that Bicol is in one phase,
02:53
Caloosan is in another phase, Region 1-2 will be in another phase. So it became complicated
03:00
because the impact is so big, and the impact is not the same, but different. And of course,
03:05
it is increasing slowly. So we just have to be more creative and be able to maximize our
03:13
resources.
03:14
All right. We're going to make an inspection. So, okay, just keep me informed, and whatever
03:28
problems arise, just raise them up with me. And if not, actually amongst yourselves, if
03:36
you can solve it, just do it that way, as quickly as possible. Just remember, there
03:41
are people still in water right now. They're still flooded. They're walking around with
03:51
water up to their waist. They have no water supply. They have no food. They have no place
03:55
to stay. So if you think you're tired, think about what their condition is. So let's always
04:03
keep that in mind.
