'Neither Italy nor Malta should be left alone to manage migratory flows,' says Metsola

00:38The European Parliament head also stressed the importance of the EU continuing to call

00:43for de-escalation in the Middle East as well as continued humanitarian aid.

00:48Mezzola also said Italy's pick for the European Commission, Raffaele Fito, would do an excellent

00:53job as commissioner and highlighted the importance of giving vice-presidency to Italy.
