00:00The early numerical designation for Partylist was completed today thanks to a digital raffle or selection of randomly tagging each one from first to last.
00:09With such concern taken care of early, the poll body is setting aside serious Partylist candidates from those whose qualifications are suspect and do not pass COMLEC muster.
00:20This plus the petitions of those declared nuisance candidates the poll body need to address as we hear more from our Luisa Erispe.
00:30The Commission on Elections has now finalized the order of the Partylist groups for the 2025 midterm elections.
00:36Because today, the COMLEC has raffled the names of the Partylists and for the first time, it was done through a digital raffle.
00:44Using a local source code, the COMLEC was able to shuffle or randomly pick numbers for all the Partylists.
00:50According to COMLEC, compared to the previous elections, this is by far the most organized raffling of numbers for the Partylists.
00:58Numbers are raffled in the Tambiolo and it is not organized like this.
01:04At that time, there were no members of the Commission present.
01:08Therefore, if there is one or two, it is done in a small room.
01:16Out of 156 accredited by the COMLEC as official Partylist aspirants, the four-piece Partylist was picked as the first on the list.
01:26Followed by the PPP, FPJ Panday Bayanihan, Kabataan, Duterte Youth, ML or Mamamayang Liberal, PBBM or Pilipinas Babangon Muli, P3PWD, Murang Kuryente, Bicol Saro, Ipatupad, and so on.
01:42While last on the list is the Oswag Ilongo Party.
01:45Partylist groups were invited to attend the raffle.
01:48However, some weren't able to join physically.
01:50COMLEC assures there will be no changes even if they fail to attend the event.
01:55Now that all Partylists have acquired their designated numbers, there are no limitations to early campaigning.
02:01But the COMLEC left a few reminders for those who start their campaigns as early as now.
02:06We still respect the rights of everyone in a proper environment even if others have already started their campaigns.
02:19The COMLEC will be posting the names of the nominees next week for each Partylist and is open to those who seek to question or appeal against certain nominees.
02:27The poll body is open for petitions.
02:29It also clarified that the raffling of numbers is only applicable for Partylist groups.
02:34For senatorial aspirants and other local aspirants, it will be arranged alphabetically.
02:40Meanwhile, there is a certain group that appealed today in COMLEC's office seeking for clarification on why they were tagged nuisance candidates by the COMLEC.
02:49They are Robert Soliman, Retired General Eli Rio, Engineer Toto Kausing, and Bonnie Macaranas.
02:56They all filed for their COCs as senatorial aspirants and believe in their capacity and competence to serve the public if permitted to run.
03:04On the other hand, the Commission on Elections will hear their appeal and petition and promise to resolve all other petitions along with theirs before December.
