00:00The 4-day Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in the country became productive.

00:08Here, various issues were discussed, including the key priorities of the Sendai Framework

00:14and the strengthening of the countries' cooperation in dealing with disasters.

00:23The Philippines successfully held the 4-day Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in the PICC.

00:31More than 24 APMC DRR attended the last meeting in Bali, Indonesia in 2022.

00:394,000 delegates from 36 countries visited Asia-Pacific.

00:45The Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction will start on Monday.

01:19On Tuesday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. opened the conference.

01:25As we chart our course to a more inclusive and resilient Asia-Pacific,

01:30let us draw inspiration from the stories of resilience that are embedded in our region.

01:36This conference presents us with a grand opportunity to send a powerful message to the world.

01:43The Asia-Pacific is not only prepared to overcome the trials of tomorrow,

01:48we are also ready to lead in disaster risk reduction and climate action.

01:54On Wednesday, the conference continued.

01:57Through discussions on the four key priorities of the Sendai Framework,

02:02the seven global targets were also discussed to prepare for the climate change and climate change in Asia-Pacific.

02:09The delegates praised the Filipino hospitality in hosting APMC DRR 2024.

02:15I really appreciate the support given to the at-risk communities to attend the conference.

02:21Apart from the grand room and all the foods, I can see that the Philippines is hosting the guests very, very well.

02:33I would really say that the Philippines is a guiding light.

02:37The United Nations Office of Disaster Risk Reduction is happy because a large part of the Philippines is in the last stage of its work.

02:45This has been an extremely gratifying experience and such an honor to be able to host such a broad range as well as a deep range of knowledge.

02:57Five important directions were formed in this four-day disaster conference.

03:02But I have to say that all of this was very nicely prefaced by the Honorable President's address on day one.

03:12That really set the stage and that really encouraged us to raise the ambition and think about disaster risk reduction in newer, bolder ways.

03:24This kind of assistance is a big deal because the Philippines' access to disaster response is expanding due to the help of other countries.

03:33Certainly, there is no doubt that we can benefit from greater knowledge exchange, greater technical assistance.

03:40There is a need for us to also refine and develop our skills in terms of preparing projects so that they, in fact, are impactful.

03:51At the same time, they will receive the kind of strategic support we have from international partners.
