People on the street: Motorways

We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about their thoughts on British motorways, and which is their favourite.

00:00Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World and today I'm heading out onto the streets of Manchester to ask people about the state of English motorways

00:05And that's because it's a massively divisive topic. For instance, some people love smart motorways, some people hate them

00:11Some people's favourite motorway might be someone's least. So we want to know what people's least is and why?

00:17The M60. Yeah, why's that? The M60 is like to the Trafford Centre to the motorway

00:23To the airport, sorry, because I literally work at the airport

00:26So getting on that, like one little accident, which is literally in the Harchoda

00:31Backs it all the way up from like the airport straight down to Rochdale, like all the way around the bloody... it's crazy

00:39I'd say it's quite neutral. It's not too bad. I've seen worse

00:43Smart motorways are the most useless invention ever. Like they don't work

00:49They're supposed to monitor the amount of cars on the road to sort out the speed limit

00:53But it just slams it down, creating traffic instead of stopping it

00:57Where's the... where's the mindset in that?
