00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest weather forecast brought to you by the Met Office.
00:05So it's been a hot day once again across the southeast, but let's have a look at the detail
00:11for tonight's weather. Well, any evening showers will continue for a little while, but will
00:16slowly decay to leave a mostly dry night for many. A little bit of rain continuing across
00:21the northwest, but looking down towards the southwest, we'll see an area of showers moving
00:27in during the early hours of Sunday. And these could be heavy and maybe thundery too, so
00:33you could get woken up by a thunderstorm tonight if you live in these areas. But it will all
00:38happen during what will be another warm and humid night, so those temperatures still in
00:43the mid to high teens for another night. Starting to see things cooling down though across the
00:49far northwest. So as we go into the start of Sunday, then those showers across the southwest
00:55will make their way northeastwards into Wales and the Midlands and later on into northern
01:00England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Now, these showers could be heavy and thundery
01:07too, so we do have a yellow thunderstorm warning out for those northern regions that I mentioned.
01:13And this is because we could see those showers banding together and that could bring some
01:17localised disruption with some heavy downpours, hail and some strong gusty winds. So do keep
01:24an eye on the forecast if you are in these areas. But just because you are in the warning
01:28area doesn't mean you will necessarily see a thunderstorm as they can be a little bit
01:32hit and miss. Now into Sunday afternoon, things will start to brighten up a little across
01:37the southwest with the best of the sunshine still across the southeast, even though it
01:42might be a bit hazy and it's here we will see those highest temperatures once again.
01:47So reaching into the low 30s, 31, 32 is the forecast high for Sunday, and that would make
01:54it the seventh consecutive day that we've seen 30 Celsius recorded somewhere in the
01:58UK this September. Now, as we go into Sunday evening, those showers across the north will
02:05continue for a time and will be heavy as well, but they will slowly make their way out towards
02:11the North Sea. So still some time to see some disruption into Sunday evening. As we go into
02:17the early hours of Monday, there will be some clear spells in the east, but low cloud, mist
02:22and fog will develop further west and we'll start to see this band of rain across Scotland
02:27making its way southeastwards and into Northern Ireland too. It's going to be another generally
02:33warm night again on Sunday night, temperatures still in the mid to high teens, but starting
02:39to cool down a bit more widely across the northwest. It's a bit of a gloomy start for
02:45some on Monday, brighter in the east, but any low cloud, mist and fog will break for
02:49a time, allowing for some brightness. But this is before this band of cloud and rain
02:55makes its way further southeastwards. A few showers developing ahead of this as well,
03:00and they could be heavy, maybe thundery too. Chance of some sunny spells though into the
03:05afternoon and feeling pleasant in the sunshine, but those temperatures not getting as high
03:10as what we've seen through much of the last week and into the first half throughout the
03:14weekend as well. So highs in the mid twenties for Monday, 25, maybe 26 in the southeast.
03:23Mid to high teens though in the north, maybe just scraping 20 degrees across northern parts
03:28of England. But what about the rest of next week? Well, it looks like it's set to remain
03:34fairly changeable, maybe feeling quite autumnal actually as well with some outbreaks of rain
03:38and showers too. But I think the thing that's going to be most noticeable is that change
03:43in temperature. So feeling quite a bit cooler than this weekend, much of the weekend with
03:47temperatures coming closer to average. So that's going to be in the mid to high teens
03:52across the north, higher teens, maybe just low twenties for a time in the south. Thank
