Thank you, Mr Tan Sri Yedipertua.
00:05
I ask that this question be answered together with the question on 17 October by YB Seputih and YB Jelutong.
00:14
Then on 21 November, there was a question from YB Jelutong as well.
00:18
And on 3 December, there was a question from YB Bukit Bintang because it touched on the same issue.
00:24
Thank you, Mr Tan Sri Yedipertua.
00:26
First of all, I would like to draw your attention to the use of the term,
00:32
which describes a scene hole on the road to Masjid India.
00:36
And the term Tanah Jelus or Tanah Mendap, which is often used, is incorrect.
00:40
According to the Department of Languages and Literature, the term should be Lubang Benam.
00:45
So I myself, Mr Tan Sri Yedipertua, apologize for being confused in using the term.
00:50
As for the information of the respected members,
00:52
touching on the current safety status and preventive measures to prevent the same incident from happening again,
00:59
I would like to say that based on research carried out by the task force or task force led by Dato' Banda Kuala Lumpur itself,
01:09
it was found that the road to Masjid India is currently safe for all types of activities.
01:14
This is after taking into account the collective expertise of various agencies,
01:19
including PDRM, Polis Diraja Malaysia, Jabatan Bomber dan Penyelamat Malaysia,
01:23
Jabatan Kerja Raya, Jabatan Mineral dan Geosains Malaysia,
01:26
as well as professional organizations such as the Institute Jurutera Malaysia IEM
01:31
and also the Geotechnical Malaysia MGS organization.
01:35
So several immediate actions have been taken.
01:39
First, the integrity audit of utility assets carried out by utility companies in the Central Business District or CBD,
01:48
including the road to Masjid India,
01:50
and the approval and integrity test under the ground were carried out to identify any weaknesses in the old assets.
01:57
Second, the use of technology such as ground penetrating radar, GPR and Macintosh probe
02:04
were used to investigate the structure of the land.
02:07
Geophysics equipment such as microgravity and ground settlement monitoring were also used
02:12
to detect any movement of the land or holes under the land.
02:16
For long-term actions, the BKL will carry out an in-depth land survey
02:21
involving the use of deep boring techniques and practical tests to ensure a stable land structure.
02:27
Geotechnical reports by Jurutera Malaysia IEM will be provided for areas that are known to be at risk
02:33
and the BKL will also carry out public communication on social media
02:40
to provide information and confidence to the public about the level of safety in the area of Masjid India Road.
02:47
Next, related to the payment to the family members of the deceased G Bijaya Lakshmi
02:53
for the information of the deceased on the basis of concern,
02:56
the government through the BKL has donated as much as RM30,000
03:00
to help the family members of the deceased in alleviating their burden due to the tragedy.
03:05
The family also received RM10,000 from the private sector.
03:10
All of this is a social responsibility to help the family members of the deceased
03:16
who are traumatized due to the loss of a loved one.
03:19
The government does not prevent the government from touching the land.
03:21
If the family of the deceased does not meet the requirements,
03:25
through an invitation letter to the relevant agency.
03:29
I also ask the respected experts
03:32
not to just see the amount of RM30,000 as the value of the deceased's life.
03:39
Of course, the deceased's life is not valued.
03:42
In the three incidents,
03:44
the Malaysian government has also allocated all the members' power and assets to the incident area
03:50
where we involve up to 13 government agencies.
03:53
During the nine days of the search,
03:55
a large number of documents have also been used for the purpose of cost and daily operations.
04:00
Do not forget that the members also lost their lives in entering a narrow and dangerous space.
04:06
In fact, the cost of reparation is also accounted for in a significant amount.
04:11
All the costs and donations are proof that the Malaysian government does not easily question anyone's life,
04:18
whether there are locals or tourists.
