Nowadays, most of us have smartphones, and most of these phones have advanced camera features.
00:10
Although the quality of DSLR and other professional cameras is not the same,
00:15
the quality of smartphone cameras continues to improve.
00:19
Other smartphones now have pro settings where we can access some DSLR-like options like ISO.
00:29
White balance, and EV, which is almost the same as the settings for shutter speed and exposure.
00:37
We still have a lot to discover and learn to improve our mobile photography skills.
00:43
In fact, it's a good practice before we invest in professional camera gears.
00:49
If you are not familiar with these features, we will give you some tips to maximize your mobile photography skills.
00:58
Here in Emil 101.
01:06
Karis, in the last week, we taught you some basic camera options.
01:10
But not all the time, you need a DSLR or expensive camera to take good pictures.
01:17
Nowadays, you can also use smartphones.
01:20
Here are some basic skills and tips to improve your mobile photography.
01:25
First, we need to know the features of your phone camera.
01:28
We need to be familiar with the modes and settings of your camera.
01:32
Learn if there are pro options, and explore its features.
01:38
First, we need to know how to set the focus of your camera.
01:42
Usually, the focus of our phone cameras is automatic.
01:46
But not all cameras have an obvious subject.
01:49
To make sure that your subject is clear, just tap the screen where you want to focus.
01:56
For example, in a picture, you want to focus on the subject.
02:01
You can tap the camera where you want to focus.
02:05
Second, experiment in using your exposure.
02:11
One of the most important things to know in photography is the correct exposure.
02:17
When you tap the screen of your phone to focus, a sun icon will appear.
02:23
From there, you can adjust the brightness and darkness of the picture by swiping up or down.
02:32
Third, use natural light.
02:35
The right lighting is one of the main factors in good photography.
02:39
And because smartphones have a small sensor, they can't always get good indoor shots.
02:46
That's why it's better to shoot outdoors using natural light.
02:54
Natural light also gives a more vibrant color and a more natural mood to the picture.
03:01
That's why most of us, Kaka RSP, when we take a picture, our lighting is good.
03:07
Fourth, avoid digital zoom.
03:11
Avoid using digital zoom.
03:14
Because it lowers the resolution of the picture.
03:18
That's why it's better to get closer to the subject than to zoom in so that the quality of your picture is maintained.
03:27
Next, study using HDR mode.
03:33
What is this HDR mode?
03:35
This is called High Dynamic Range mode.
03:38
This helps for a more balanced exposure.
03:41
Especially when there is a mixture of dark and light in one frame that you're taking.
03:49
Because of this HDR mode, there is a balance in color.
03:53
Both have dark areas and light areas.
03:55
The result of the lighting of different colors is equal.
04:01
Next, try the Portrait mode.
04:05
This is good because if you want to highlight your subject, set the camera in Portrait mode.
04:11
This gives a shallow depth of field where there is a blurred area.
04:18
The background is usually more focused on the subject or the foreground.
04:25
This is one of the ways to make your pictures look professional.
04:31
Next, use Photography Compositions.
04:34
Using the right Compositional Rules will help you get better results.
04:41
Here are some Compositional Rules that you can try.
04:44
First, there is a Rule of Thirds.
04:48
You can see it on the camera.
04:51
1, 2, 3.
04:53
There are three rules.
04:55
You can use the grid feature of your camera and divide the image into a box or a box.
05:02
It's better if you put the subject at the intersections of the grid lines.
05:08
Next, there are Leading Lines.
05:10
What are Leading Lines?
05:12
What's good about this is that it uses natural or artificial lines around the subject to guide the eyes when looking.
05:21
In other words, a picture has a story.
05:24
Leading Lines gives depth and distance to the picture.
05:29
It looks like a 3D.
05:31
Another element is what we call Symmetry.
05:35
If you want to show balance, proportion, or harmony, make your shot symmetrical.
05:42
This kind of composition is perfect for architectural subjects.
05:48
As you can see, the subject is perfectly balanced.
05:53
Another element is the Rule of Triangles.
05:58
This is often used for group shots.
06:01
We can use what we call the Rule of Triangles.
06:05
This helps the picture to be balanced and well-composed.
06:10
It looks more balanced when your subjects are well-arranged.
06:16
Another element is the Golden Ratio.
06:19
What is the Golden Ratio?
06:20
It's a technical term for RSPs.
06:22
It's a design principle based on the ratio of 1 to 1.618
06:28
that is used to give a balanced design with a pleasing visual effect.
06:35
This is often used to achieve perfect harmony in compositions and pleasing to the eyes of the viewers.
06:43
You can see the example of RSPs here.
06:45
We have two compositions that we often use to apply the Golden Ratio in photography.
06:50
One of them is the Fibonacci Spiral.
06:53
This is the result of the Fibonacci Sequence that consists of numbers starting with 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and 13.
07:02
This sequence forms a spiral pattern.
07:07
This is usually seen in nature, such as shells and flowers.
07:12
The viewers are led to the subject in a natural flow or manner.
07:17
Another example is the Phi Grid.
07:20
It's sometimes called differently.
07:22
There are different Bibles and different production houses.
07:25
This is almost like the Rule of Thirds.
07:27
But the lines are at 38.2% and 61.8% of the frame.
07:33
It's based on the Golden Ratio of 1 to 1.618.
07:37
Compared to the Rule of Thirds, which is 33.3% and 66.6% or 66.7%,
07:44
this is a more accurate placement for harmonious balance in visual compositions.
07:50
You will get better shots because of the tips that we have brought to you.
07:56
