Diddy will fight his legal case to the bitter end ... because his lawyer says a plea deal won't fly with his client.

00:05He is very eager to tell his story.

00:08They're going to show that video over and over and over

00:11about what happens to women that won't change their stories.

00:15His reputation is over.

00:17The United States government, they start making this case

00:20as a takedown of a successful black man.

00:24TMZ presents The Downfall of Diddy, The Indictment, now streaming on Tubi.

00:30The Diddy documentary that dropped on Tubi a couple days ago

00:36has kind of caused a stir, partly because of what Diddy's lawyer told us.

00:42And there were a couple of things.

00:43I mean, I want to say the silly part,

00:46but I guess it's not really silly because it's part of the case.

00:49But it was the Costco comments.

00:51The Costco comments about the baby oil.

00:54I feel like he was trying to make a joke.

00:56Yeah.

00:56It did not land well with a lot of people who felt like

00:59it was an insensitive thing to be joking about,

01:02considering what the allegations are.

01:04And you know what we're talking about.

01:05He was saying that a lot of what the feds are talking about

01:10were three ways, these freak-offs.

01:13And, you know, and I said to him,

01:14why were there a thousand bottles of baby oil?

01:16Because the feds...

01:17That's a perfect follow-up question.

01:19Well, because the feds made it sound like they're orgies.

01:21Right.

01:21And there's video of this.

01:23And so he got into it.

01:25That is...

01:27Let's put that aside.

01:28One thing people are talking about.

01:29The interesting thing, and all of this is not in the doc,

01:33there's other things that I talked to the lawyer about,

01:36is how quickly they want this trial to go.

01:39Yeah. Mark Agnifolo says that they are not running from this trial.

01:43In fact, Diddy feels very confident in his ability to defend himself here.

01:50This is what Mark had to say about

01:52the possibility of a plea deal.

01:55Would you be open to a plea bargain?

01:58Well, it's not up to me.

01:59It's up to Mr. Combs.

02:01And I don't see it happening.

02:03Why?

02:04Because he believes he's innocent.

02:06He believes he's innocent.

02:07And what's more, he believes that he needs to stand up,

02:12not just for himself, for his family,

02:15and for everybody who's been targeted by the federal government.

02:20Mr. Combs feels, A, he's innocent, which is why he's not going to plead guilty.

02:24B, he's going to be truthful about this case

02:26because he wants to portray that to the people who have loved him his whole life.

02:31And I think he also feels an obligation to people in general.

02:35Maybe it's black people.

02:36Maybe it's white people.

02:37Maybe it's anybody who's ever felt aggrieved and targeted by the government.

02:42He feels an obligation to those people to say,

02:44you know what, maybe I can break the model.

02:46You know, maybe I can show the world that a black man can win,

02:51you know, in federal court.

02:53And I think he probably is the only person I know of

02:56who might be able to actually accomplish that.

02:58So he said that he is going to accelerate this as quickly as possible.

03:05And he's going to call the feds bluff

03:08because he doesn't think the feds have their ducks in a row.

03:11They're still investigating.

03:13He has a right to a speedy trial.

03:15And he says he is going to enforce that right.

03:17I think one of the things we're seeing here is an attorney trying to

03:20a little bit win over the court of public opinion here, right?

03:23I mean, these are lines that he's using publicly.

03:26I don't know how well they play in court.

03:28And I don't know how honestly, how strong they are

03:32in terms of eventually, you know, having his client prevail,

03:35but maybe using a strategy emerge.

03:36Maybe this is going to be sort of a, you know,

03:40put the feds on trial for the decision to prosecute in the first place.
