TVS Apache RR310 first ride review by Vedant Jouhari. We got to ride the new Apache RR310 around the CoasTT track in Coimbatore and here's our review of the motorcycle!                   ~PR.308~ED.70~##~

00:00What if I told you an Indian manufacturer has come out with a motorcycle with a six-axis

00:15IMU, dynamic stability control, traction control, winglets, well this is its TVS Apache RR 310.

00:23Welcome back to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and in this video, I'm going to take you guys

00:28through what all comes updated in the 2024 version of the RR 310 and what makes it stand

00:33out amongst other vehicles in the segment.

00:43So first off, we'll start off with the design.

00:45We get a very aggressive front dome, right from our DRLs to our main headlights to the

00:51integrated indicators, everything at the front is just really aggressive.

00:55Now adding on to the front fascia now, compared to the previous generation of the RR 310,

01:00we get these winglets.

01:02Now these winglets are designed to make 3kgs of downforce and they also neatly house the

01:07indicators, avoiding any mishaps in case of a crash.

01:11Now these winglets not only add that 3kg of downforce, it also adds a huge appeal to the

01:17overall look of this motorcycle.

01:19So the front tyres that we get is a 110 by 70, 17-inch tyres and they come with petal

01:30disc brakes.

01:31Also, we get gold-plated USD forks in the front, all linked through a Vibre caliper.

01:37Now moving on from that, we get this transparent visor for when you want to tuck down and just

01:42gun it.

01:43Also, the mirrors that we get can also act as aero by just closing it.

01:47Now once you close it, the whole bike becomes a whole lot more streamlined, becomes a whole

01:52lot more aggressive looking and that's when you can really really enjoy the capability

01:56of this motorcycle.

01:58Now we get a very neatly integrated Indian logo on the front and now moving on from the

02:04front to the whole side design of this.

02:07Right from the whole graphics that we get to the red and the black finish, to literally

02:13everything on the motorcycle just makes it look really really good and compared to the

02:18previous gen of the RR 310, TVS has done wonders.

02:22Now taking a quick look at the design, well we get the Apache branding on the side, we

02:27get the TVS logo on our tank and on the top of our tank we get this white and red stripes

02:33with the RR 310 badging as well.

02:36So now looking at my side of the motorcycle, TVS has done something really really cool

02:41by incorporating a transparent clutch cover.

02:45Now you might have seen in a certain premium motorcycles, a few Italian motorcycles, you

02:49can see the transparent clutch cover getting a little wet, right?

02:54Except for on the RR 310, they do use a dry clutch so there's no liquid, however you can

02:58still see the clutch in motion and for that on a sports, on a super sport oriented motorcycle

03:03is beautiful.

03:05Now apart from that, we get a split style seat, this again aids in your ergonomics, aids

03:10in tucking down and just gives you that little more space to move around.

03:14I'll tell you more on the seating position once I actually get onto the motorcycle.

03:19So apart from that, we get a single monoshock at the rear and we also get 17-inch wheels

03:23at the rear.

03:24Now that is also linked to a pedal disc brake with 5-brake calipers.

03:29The tyres that are used on the RR 310 are the Michelin Road 5s that were first specifically

03:34designed for the RTR 310.

03:37For reference, I am 6'1 and as you can see, even with the bike on a paddock stand, I can

03:43still comfortably rest my feet down.

03:45So even for people up to 5'8, 5'9, they will feel comfortable, they will be able to plant

03:50their feet completely on the ground.

03:52Apart from that, the whole rider's triangle that we get on the motorcycle is really, really

03:58good for your street riding, sports riding, it's a brilliant, brilliant rider's triangle.

04:04For cruising, however, it could get a little strenuous on the lower back and on the wrists

04:10as you are seated a little aggressively.

04:12However, the moment you get used to the seating position, you might be able to take it on

04:17cruises.

04:18Apart from that, the tank is perfectly placed, your legs literally take the shape of the

04:23tank and even when you want to move around and lean, you can still get yourself out and

04:29you have so much room to play with.

04:31To get yourself out also for when you are riding on track, located right near our footpegs,

04:35we've got this sort of metal grip that we can rest our feet on for when we need to bring

04:41our knees out for cornering.

04:43So now apart from that, let's come to the switchgear, let's come to the instrument cluster.

04:48Well, we get a digital instrument cluster, the same cluster that we got on the previous

04:52gen of the RR 310 and now we've got a whole lot of features on this, such as we've got

04:56four riding modes, urban, rain, sport and track.

04:59Urban and rain being the most lenient on throttle, being the most easy on throttle, sport taking

05:04it a notch higher and track means this vehicle is just all out.

05:10Now, we can adjust our settings such as we can increase our traction control, we can

05:15switch it off, we can switch on stability control, we can switch it off, we can switch

05:18our traction control on or off, we can switch our quick shifter, yes this comes with a quick

05:21shifter, a bi-directional quick shifter, we can switch that on or off as well and let

05:27me quickly tell you about the quick shifter, well this quick shifter is super, super, super

05:32precise.

05:33The switchgears that we get, we get a hazard light, we get a cruise control, we get cornering

05:39cruise control on this which basically means when you're coming into a corner, the bike

05:42is going to slow down for you and as you straighten out the motorcycle, the speed is going to

05:46increase.

05:47Then apart from that, we get our high beam and low beam, our flashers and we get a set

05:51of controls to control our instrument cluster.

05:54Apart from that, our indicator, our horn and everything else that we require is on the

05:57left side and as for the right, we have a kill switch and our starting button, all located

06:02in one button.

06:05Now, on our handlebars, we have a front suspension adjuster for preload, rebound or compression.

06:13Well, powering the RR 310, we get a 312cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 38PS and

06:2429Nm of torque.

06:27This with the traction control off is just a joy to ride.

06:30Now this engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and as I said, it comes with a quick shifter,

06:35this is the quick shifter setting right there.

06:38So, apart from that, ride feel, how it is, the front suspension is brilliant, the winglets

06:43really, really keep that front stable even if you're hard on throttle, even if you're

06:47leaning aggressively, your front is not playing at all, it's planted, you feel confident

06:53riding it, you feel very, very, very good riding this bike, you feel one with this motorcycle

07:01and the rear suspension setup, it is also really good, however, it might be a little

07:07too soft, especially when you're downshifting into corners because you do feel the back

07:11start to sway around, however, how they've calibrated it, being it for road, track, street

07:17use, any use, it is very, very comfortable to ride.

07:20So now the 0-60 timings of the RR 310 is 2.8 seconds and the 0-100 clocks in 6.7 seconds,

07:29all of that links to a top speed of 164kmph claimed by TVS.

07:36So for all of this speed, all of this power, how does it actually slow down, how does it

07:40stop?

07:41Well, we've got adjustable brakes and we've got an adjustable clutch on this.

07:44The front brakes are brilliant, you really feel the bite, you really feel it, overall

07:50the braking system that we get on the RR 310 is brilliant, it's tremendous and it's just

07:55a whole lot of fun to ride.

07:57So that was a quick run through, a quick first ride review of the RR 310.

08:03So now coming to prices on the RR 310, well, it's priced extremely aggressively with the

08:08base variant at 2.75 lakhs ex-showroom.

08:11Now for the top-end variant, the prices increase up to 2.97 lakhs ex-showroom and depending

08:16on the kits you want, such as the Dynamic or the Dynamic Pro kit, the prices vary and

08:20the prices will increase.

08:22Now if you also opt for the race replica colour scheme of this, that also incurs a higher

08:27charge.

08:28But all in all, in terms of value for money, we get everything you need, all within a 3 lakh

08:33price bracket.
