00:00Hi guys and welcome to Drive Spark, I'm Promeet and the car that we are sitting in today is the
00:09all new BMW X5. Now this is not a generation change but this particular variant has gone
00:19through a facelift so this is the facelifted version of the X5 and this model, there are two
00:24models, one is diesel and one is a petrol. Now this model is the petrol which is the
00:29X5 XDrive40i M Sport, yeah it is a long name. So in this video I'm gonna tell you what all
00:37do you get with the all new X5 and how does this SUV drive. So that is how the key of the
00:45all new X5 looks like, now that is how the car looks like from the front, you get a sleek
00:49BMW LED headlamp which has this blue elements inside, there are crystal also inside and this
00:54looks nice. You get a new grille, obviously the grille has vents over there that open up
00:59for better ventilation. Since this is the M Sport variant, you get an aggressive bumper
01:04at the front and you get no chrome, you get gloss black finishing all around. Not even
01:09a single trim is on chrome. If you move to the side of the vehicle, you will notice you
01:13get this beautiful big 21 inch alloys from M Sport. You get a blue caliper as well, obviously
01:18they have M badging. Then you have the M badging right over here and that is a fake vent which
01:25I don't know why have they put over there. But you can see you get these premium continental
01:30tires and the tire profile is 275 40 R 21. Yeah, 21 inch of wheels and that is how the car looks
01:40like from the side. You got aggressive lines going on and this is right now on the comfort
01:46mode. That is the mid mode. There is a mode lower. Obviously you have air suspension, the car
01:50can go down and the lowest height is around 216 mm of ground clearance which is still a
01:56lot. And as you can see over here, all gloss black finishing all around. If you come to
02:01the back over here, you get these wrapped around LED tail lights, X5 badging over here and you
02:07have the X drive 40i badge right over here. If you move down, you get this diffuser kind
02:13of a finish and you have two tailpipes surrounded by this chrome garnish. Well, let me just quickly
02:19open the boot. You also get a wiper with a washer and a spoiler as well. Now that is how the
02:27boot looks like. Obviously you have this parcel tray that can be moved. Once you move this, you
02:32can see you have the second lip as well and this thing can come down. So if you just want
02:40to sit over here and if you have a view, you can just sit like this and enjoy the view outside.
02:46And yeah, you can see that there are hooks all around. There are seats that can go down
02:53and this parcel tray is right over here. If you want to keep anything light. Now this boot can
03:00close automatically, but you have a button over here to close this. If you want both of them to
03:04close, just press the button and see how quickly that thing closes.
03:07So that was the exterior of the X5. Now let us go on the inside and over here, there is one thing
03:15that we get and that is, if you notice, you get soft closed doors on all four corners. That is
03:22really, really nice. Now this is the rear section. Obviously you have this tan upholstery, which looks
03:28nice. You have these comfortable cushions. Now this is a five seater. Let me just quickly sit inside and show
03:34it to you. Just look at this. There you go. Soft closed doors and it locks. Now best I think are
03:46two people, but I mean, three people can sit. The floor is not that high. There is a headrest for the
03:52third passenger as well, but it does not get this cushion. And you have this armrest where you have
03:58cup holders that pop out like this. You have some storage space right over here and you have
04:04four zone climate control that obviously one, two and three and four AC vents are here and here on
04:12the B pillar for the second row. And you can see you also have charging sockets right over here. You have
04:17a USB type C and this thing is an accessory. Obviously you can get the entertainment package as well where
04:25you will get two screens. Okay. You have sunshades that are manual. I wish these were electric as well.
04:30However, the seats are not electric. It cannot be moved. They are fixed seat, but still you can see
04:36that this is my driving position. And I, for reference, my height is six one still some amount
04:43of knee room and leg room is there. I can sit comfortably and go and you have charging sockets
04:49right there as well. Now that is how the front end of the cabin looks like. Now let's go over there.
04:56And yeah, that is the boot. If you want to access something from here, you can just quickly access
05:02this. And this is to fold this. There you go. As I was mentioning, you can access things from here.
05:09Don't need to go out and open the boot. So now let's quickly move on to the front section.
05:16That is the front section. Very comfortable seats turn upholstery. Same kind of upholstery you get
05:25at the back. Obviously these, you can see these have these winglets that will hold you hold your head
05:30in place. And obviously you get these UV cut glasses at the side. That is really helpful.
05:36Well, steering wheel is a round steering wheel. You have this M badging on the steering wheel, which
05:41obviously I really love. Personally, a round steering wheel is really nice. You have a heads
05:45up display right over there. Then this is your cluster. Now this cluster is a 12.3 inch cluster.
05:52And this screen over here is a 14.9 inch screen. Just look at the size. You have a lot of features
05:59over here. You can control a lot of things. And obviously, if you see over here, you have these
06:07buttons. They have a haptic touch, but everything has now been moved to the screen. If you want to
06:14access the air conditioning, this is how you do it. That is how you increase the fan speed.
06:21That is how you lower the fan speed. And yeah, everything is over here. One thing that I wish
06:26could have been done is that the font size of this could have been slightly more bigger. I think one
06:33notch bigger. Apart from that, it looks nice. The console is right over here. You have your
06:39iDrive controller right here. This is to raise and lower the car. That's your media settings.
06:44Everything is a haptic touch button. Those are your modes. You have three modes and that's your engine
06:49start stop. You have some crystals over here on the gear lever. That's your gear lever and that's your
06:54iDrive controller. Well, rest. You have paddle shifters over here. The steering wheel can be
07:00electronically moved, adjusted, and obviously soft touch material is everywhere in the car.
07:08And if you see over here, these are some elements. Now, these are the ambient light. You have a ton
07:13of variety to do some ambient light. If you change the mode, the light changes automatically. You can
07:18set and customize it. So yeah, ambient lighting all over. Then you have a physical volume rocker.
07:25These are your small AC vents that actually are pretty good. They are sleek. They are inside.
07:30And that is how you shut them. And that is how you control them. And these are your regular AC vents.
07:38You have storage space right over here. You have cup holders. This is your 12 volt socket. You have a
07:43wireless charging socket right over here. Some cubby hole with charging units over here. That's a dash cam.
07:50That's from the company. They have provided it. And that is your auto dimming IRVM.
07:54That is how the view looks like with the sunroof open. However, the part that opens up is really
08:00small is only this much, but you have a lot of light coming in from outside. So let's quickly now
08:09drive this car and I will tell you everything you need to know about the all new X5.
08:13So let us talk about the engine of the all new X5. Now it is powered by, there are two engine options.
08:21Now what we are driving today, as I mentioned, this is the X-Drive 40i, which means this is the
08:26petrol engine. And obviously the 30d is the diesel engine. Now this is a three liter straight six
08:34turbo petrol engine. And obviously it's a twin scroll turbo petrol engine, which means that this
08:39produces around 375 bhp of power and around 520 nm of peak torque, which is pretty nice.
08:52And this thing can do a zero to 100 in 5.4 seconds, which is claimed by the company. So yeah,
08:59this thing is pretty fast. So the X5 comes mated to an eight speed steptronic talk converter gearbox,
09:06which is specially designed for this model, the X5, which is specially designed for this SUV.
09:12And it transfers the power to all the four wheels. As I told you, it's an X-Drive. So this is an all
09:18time four wheel drive vehicle. And yeah, guys, it is a pretty nice vehicle. Obviously it has a suspension
09:25and this thing can do some serious speeds. As I mentioned, 0 to 100 comes in and
09:32just 5.4 seconds, which is actually pretty quick. So the X5 gets air suspension. And obviously if you
09:41drive it in a normal way, it will be at the medium height. Well, if you park the car and if you want
09:48it to be lowered, because it is really high, I am six one. And if I put it to the maximum, there are two
09:53levels of off-roading. If I put it on the level two setting, then it is seriously difficult for me to
09:59climb in and like get out or in of the vehicle. So yeah, it has an accessible height, it has a normal
10:05height and then it has two off-road heights. And obviously the off-road heights above 70 kilometers
10:10an hour, it automatically comes down to the comfort or the regular height mode. So because it has a
10:15suspension, it is just like you're floating. It's just like you're gliding on the road. And overall,
10:22this thing is a pretty nice SUV guys. I mean, it looks good. It performs well. It has some serious
10:31numbers to it and it rides well as, I mean, everything is just ticked. And this is an SUV.
10:38Plus the figure that I mentioned, the 0 to 100 timing, that is with the weight. And if I tell you
10:44the weight, it is almost 2.2 tons. So a 2.2 ton SUV doing a 0 to 100 in that time is just amazing.
10:51And so, as I mentioned that there are modes in this SUV. And as you go through the modes,
10:57the ride height increases or decreases. For example, if we are on comfort,
11:01then the ride height will be normal, even on eco pro. And if we put on sports, obviously the ride
11:07height will decrease. That means that you will have less body roll since the SUV has squatted down
11:13and it will handle better around corners, especially at a little more higher speeds. So
11:19it is a fantastic vehicle. Trust me. And one thing is that you, there is ADAS in this for safety. So
11:26if you're driving on Indian roads, then you might just switch off the automatic braking before leaving
11:31your place because that thing is slightly risky and you can be a cause of an accident because someone
11:36will come in front of you and then the car will break automatically. And then someone will rear end you
11:41and then say that why did you brake or all of a sudden. So yeah, that's about the X5. If you need
