Northcote explainer as restaurant named best in the UK

00:00Lancashire's Northcote in Lango on the outskirts of Blackburn has just been
00:05named the very best restaurant in the UK and the third best in the world by Trip
00:10Advisor. Michelin star winning Lisa Goodwin-Allen has been executive chef at
00:14Northcote since 2015. She joined the restaurant aged 20 in 2001.
00:21You might have seen her on TV on The Great British Menu. She's also starred in
00:26MasterChef for Professionals as a chef mentor for the semi-finalists. She's long
00:31been known for her creative and adventurous menus incorporating the very
00:35best seasonal ingredients accompanied with a hint of nostalgia. It's not just
00:39about food at Northcote, the hotel has 26 inspired and imaginative rooms that you
00:45can choose from. There's the manor house rooms and the garden lodge rooms and
00:48what's coming soon is a brand new pavilion building with some spa
00:52experiences.
